Yes, remember sunscreen and stay the heck out of tanning beds as well.
Educate yourselves for your kids. Protect them and keep them covered at the beach and elsewhere. Never let them get a burn.
I'm always surprised that people still lay out in the sun and tan on purpose. It ages you. It wrinkles you. It can kill you. Let your teens know that this is not ok. It is equally as bad as smoking.
My uncle died of melanoma cancer when he was 50 years old. He was diagnosed after a mole on his back turned odd and died about 6 months later. That was about 7 years ago and we still aren't over it. We currently have another relative battling the disease.
Learn your lesson about this disease the easy way (education). Not the hard way.
BTW I am extremely pale skinned (unlike the rest of my family). Tan in a can is your friend in the summer. There are some very good products out there that do not make your skin look orange or streaked if you need to take the glow off.
