Desperately looking for deals at Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge resorts in the Wisconsin Dells. Hoping to stay Sunday evening (March 27).

My husband just found out he is getting 2 days off and the kids have spring break, but unfortunately, everyone else is on spring break too because rates have doubled!

If anyone has a code that might work I would greatly appreciate it.:lovestruc

More than likely they will have black out dates with spring breaks starting so discounts will be harder to get. Have you tried to call about a better price?

One of the discounts you may be able to get during spring break might be AAA if you have it. Does you husband get discounts at any kind of hotels through his employer? I think the entertainment book might have something for the Chula Vista if that would be an option.

Sign up for their email clubs...they often send oout deals via email. We go to the Dells at least once a year and I have been to the Kalahari. Very nice! We love it and really, it is one of the top resorts there.

Right now you can go to their websites (both GW and Kalahari) and they have "deals and special offers" links on their website you can browse through.

We stayed once over our spring break and got a good deal...room, tickets to water park and their theme park (indoors), breakfast for 4 and dinner for 4 with a 25 dollar gift card to one of their sit-down places (Kahunaville or something!?!?!? Not sure??) and a free in room movie (we watched Twilight when it was new! I remember that!! LOL). I want to say it was only 700 dollars for a 3 night package but I honestly do not remember.

Staying mid-week will get you the BEST deals...the weekends there are much more $$. We tend to do a Sunday night through Wednesday for the best pricing.

If there is a year we cannot make it to Disney, the Dells is a close 2nd for me and my family!!! Last year we were at Chula Vista and liked that fairly well too (their rooms were not a stately as Kalahari) but in general, I think the rooms are definitely less updated there in the Dells than they are in hotel chains or of course, Disney. Not shabby but not contemporary, either. A bit on the cheap side...:rolleyes1

But we love it anyway!! Not there for the room. There for the water parks!

I am signed up for deals emails from all waterpark resorts in the Dells area, the one that usually have the best rates is Wilderness Territory. Check them out.

Thanks for the help everyone. I am signed up for each hotels newsletters. I might have to try a different hotel than the two I had my heart set on. Should have just booked a trip to Disney...would have been cheaper. LOL:rotfl:

We just got back from the Dells last week. You can stay anywhere and buy day passes to Kalahari. If the resort itself is too expensive, stay nearby at a motel and spend $29/day on day passes. (I think it's $34/day but the Tanger coupon book has $5 off pp coupon in it)

I did that too. At the time we wanted to go I would have had to pay WELL over $200 for a night at Kalahari. Since only 2 of us needed the waterpark, we stayed at Ramada Express I believe & bought 2 passes. We spent about $70 or 80 there & had a decent enough continental breakfast that was included.

I HIGHLY recommend the Wilderness. We buy our packages off of Ebay and split with a few other people for a condo. It usually comes up to around $50 per person for 2 nights/3 days, all waterpark passes included and we get to stay in a super nice condo with a full kitchen (saves on dining out) and get a hot tub, nice bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, dining room & patio.

I'd never pay full price for a regular room at the Dells again.

Thanks for this info. I'll have to try that next time! :thumbsup2

I'm looking at Wilderness on the lake in a 3 bedroom condo. It looks like it will be $325 per night. There will be 10 of us (mom, dad, me, dh, dd19, dd16, dbrother, dsil, dniece (14), dnephew (2). Does that sound like a good deal?

Its for a Mon-Wed rental.

I just noticed there was an ad for Kalahari Spring Break specials at the bottom of the budget board page.

10 people in a 3 bedroom? Not a vaca for me!

10 people in a 3 bedroom? Not a vaca for me!

It has a king bed master bedroom for my brother, sil and nephew. There is an upstairs bedroom with 2 queen beds and pullout for me, dh, and our 2 dds. There is a second bedroom on the main floor with 2 queen beds for my parents. My niece can either stay with us on the pullout or in the second bed of my parents room or on the sofa bed in the living room. Her choice. Not sure what is so wrong with that?? It is a cabin with a fireplace (won't need it in june), full kitchen, a screened in patio with hot tub and view of the lake???

Its not our "real" family vacation. Just a quick getaway. But we are treating my brother and his family and my parents since they won't get to vacation any other way. My mom will cook for us (believe me, that is her vacation - she will be in heaven cooking for everyone). So I am looking forward to it.
