Dealing with KOSHER

Hi All,

We are taking our niece and nephew (lucky kids!) to Disney in August, and they keep kosher

Their mom says it's ok for them to eat non-meat items, but my question is: are there ANY other kosher meat options that you all know of? Maybe like kosher hot dogs or something?

They have to have kosher areas in Disney - I mean, Jews love Mickey too! (I'm one!) I don't keep kosher, but I think my neighbors daughter just went down there, and had no problems. They may be few and far between, but maybe you can just stock up... and they have little "convience stores" in areas like the Boardwalk - I don't know where your staying, but maybe you could pick some stuff up there? Hope it all works out for you, its hard keeping Kosher outside of Brooklyn!!

Well, I don't keep Kosher, so haven't looked at it up, but my sister who keeps Kosher ended up going vegetarian largely because it simplified keeping Kosher. Tho you do still have to worry about stuff like things cooked in chicken broth (I was reading a report on eating Vegan that mentioned couscous at Marrakesh cooked in chicken broth, for instance.)

I'm pretty sure pb&j and macaroni & cheese were pretty readily available, as well as cheese pizza, for kid vegetarian options. I'm not sure how chicken nuggets would rate - that was the other most common kid meal. (No idea if lard is used in frying anything.)

I don't know exactly, but I'm pretty sure that there are Kosher options at Starlight Rays in MK, and I'm sure that you've got options in all the parks.

I may be too late to be helpful on this one, but you can order kosher meals at most resturaunts on property 24 hrs in advance. For the kids, I recommend a ADR with kosher meals at a character breakfast buffet. You have the meals, and you also have access to the buffet which has kosher items (ie fruit, cereal). It's a winner with my kids.

There is one counter service resturaunt in each park that has glatt kosher meals that you don't need 24 hr advance notice.
