Dealing with allergies at WDW... A True Story

Back in May of 2004, I dealt with a major allergy issue toward the end of my trip to WDW. My Nose was soooo stuffed up , My head felt like it was going to Explode. I went around the Epcot florral show around Memorial day 2004. Flash forward to this year my allergies are acting up again. I will be comming to WDW with my family next month. My Question is what allergy medication should take with me to WDW since will be hot and humid? Thanks in advance

What works for one person may not work for someone else or have very negative side effects. For me, Sudafed does nothing, Benedryl has me napping on a park bench. My drug of choice is Claritin-D.

Seriously, please see your Dr before taking anything over the counter. Should you have high blood pressure or are on any other prescriptions, any OTC allergy medication may have an impact.

...and for me, Claritin (D or otherwise) is like taking sugar pills and I need to take prescription meds.

I would definitely check w/ your dr. There are lots of different choice both OTC and prescription and they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

I also find that a neti pot works wonders for nasal allergies. (Dr. Oz talked about it on Oprah.) I've been a long time sufferer and taken prescription allergy drugs for almost two decades but since I started using a neti pot I only have to take the drugs occassionally.

I've been there the past few weeks. It is fast and furious and funny. Not sure about Kevin and John being there this week. As much as they like us, I certainly would not be surprised if they decided to ditch us and enjoy their vacation and the food!

Good idea, too. I recommend these every day, but realize it's not so much the device (the neti pot), it's what you put *in* it.
For relief of congestion (pressure), try the "hypertonic" (concentrated) saline. The neti pot is a good, gentle way to get it in there.

Talk to your doctor. That's what you pay them for. THEY CAN'T HIT YA!!
