I loved this game show since it debuted on NBC in 2005 and even though it was cancelled in 2009 Deal Or No Deal is still my favorite game show and I mainly watched it because of Howie Mandel and when I saw him bald I kept thinking Bruce Willis was gonna host Deal Or No Deal but then I researched info and saw that it was indeed Howie because I had always liked his curly hair so it was weird to see him bald. I loved the format and I used to know the briefcase models names and would always mimic their hand motions and facial expressions when they would open the cases. It's a shame that Deal Or No Deal got cancelled in 2009 and ever since CNBC revived it for a short time I think Deal Or No Deal is still the best game show and I like watching it in reruns on Tubi too

I think people lost interest once they realized there was no real 'skill' involved in playing that game and it was the same thing each time. People kept playing after they should have cashed out because they were hoping their case had some large amount. Howie always tried to hype it up for the entertainment value. Once most figured that out they moved on to other shows.

I thought it was entertaining and would get caught up in the players often yelling at my tv, lol.... I was surprised it was canceled.

Another one that I really liked and was surprised to see canceled was Minute to Win it. We tried to recreate a few of the challenges and my boys always did great.

Of all the NBC shows that were huge but got cancelled despite being hits I think Deal Or No Deal is the one that should've never gotten cancelled because I think the main actual reason why Deal Or No Deal was cancelled was not because of ratings but because of the ways they hyped the show like having special themed episodes and episodes that were 90 minutes. But what I think really caused Deal Or No Deal's death was the famous Million Dollar Mission and I think Deal Or No Deal created the Million Dollar Mission so NBC could have competition with CBS's The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectaculars and once Jessica Robinson and Tomorrow Rodriguez became Deal Or No Deal's million dollar champions the show started going downhill after that and I think why Howie Mandel was chosen to host Deal Or No Deal was so he could jumpstart his career and he has become NBC's biggest star judging on America's Got Talent. But in my eyes NBC should've given the original Deal Or No Deal more episodes and another season

Deal Or No Deal also had a historic day on Labor Day 2008 as Jessica Robinson became the first woman millionaire to win the million dollar prize and she had promised her family that she would move back to Texas because she was having a baby at the time. And when Jessica Robinson became Deal Or No Deal's million dollar champion it was truly a historic moment in history
Does anyone remember this on Deal Or No Deal?

I watched for a while, but recall starting to feel I had enough due to the way they kept over dramatizing it and stretching it out.

That was my impression as well. Howie tried to make it overly dramatic to fill the timeslot. There is no skill involved and most contestants play too long hoping their case is some huge amount. Game got too repetitive to watch regularly so I moved on.

I think the main problem with Deal Or No Deal was that NBC overhyped it way too much and even though it was a hit I think NBC had huge plans for it. But when they started the Million Dollar Mission episodes that's when Deal Or No Deal was ruined and that's when the ratings went downhill and the show got cancelled. I also think the reason why Howie Mandel was chosen to host Deal Or No Deal was because he had been hoping to make a comeback and because of Deal Or No Deal Howie Mandel became one of NBC's big stars and still is due to America's Got Talent. But after Deal Or No Deal got cancelled in 2009 you could tell that game shows were NBC's weakest links because they gave the same treatment to 1 Vs 100 and that show was mainly a hit because of the late Bob Saget. But the oddest thing they did was turn Deal Or No Deal into a short-lived syndicated show and it was odd and you can see why it was cancelled after two seasons. But when it comes to game shows NBC should create new prime-time game shows that are successful and not do the exact same thing they learned with Deal Or No Deal

Many cruise ships run a version of Deal or no Deal now.

Back in October 2022 my wife and I went to play/watch. We each bought one ticket, $20, and were trying to figure out how it worked when I saw my name up on the screen.

Each session they picked someone from the audience to come up and play for the group and that was me!

In the end it turned out that my case was the $0.01 case but I ended up winning a little over $200. If I had taken the prior offer I would have had a little over $400. The largest price was either $1000 or $2000, I don't remember the exact amount.

It was a lot of fun.
