Deaf in Disney?

I was in Disney World last July for the first time in 3 years and I hadn't realized how much my hearing had deteriorated, in fact it often ruined the attractions for me. I am planning on going back next June and was wondering if anyone can give any useful tips or point me in the direction of some help for this.

reflective captioning where available.
the handheld captioning where available.
interpreters if you know sign language. there is a schedule for when each park is interpreted during the week. Recently the days have changed. Now MK is Mon and Thur, AK is Tue and Sat, Studios in Wed and Sun and Epcot is Fri.
Try to sit in the front of the shows.
Learn to enjoy the visuals and not focus on the words.
If you are using the handheld device ask to ride through a second time. First time use the device and second time focus on the visual.
if you are wearing hearing aids make sure you carry a container to keep them dry in case of rain, watch out for people with spritzing fans, and beware of sweaty ears

I agree that the Reflective Captioning device will become your new best friend! You really only need to use it for one vacation. Once you realize what is said - you have it.

I will never forget the look on my daughter's face when she read "Dead man tell no tales" at Pirates for the first time. Etc, etc on other attractions.

Disney makes more sense when you can understand the words!

I think you are referring to the handheld device not reflective captioning. The reflective captioning is a plexigas screen they place in front of you at shows like Country Bears and Hall of the Presidents.
