Deadline for Fed Tax return?

What is the deadline for the federal tax return? I thought it was later because the 15th falls on a Saturday. Is it?

Yes it is Monday the 17th, postmark deadline.

It is Monday, the 17th.

However, if you live in Massachusetts, your state tax return is not due until Tuesday, the 18th since Monday is a holiday here. I'm not sure if you get the extra day on your federal if you live in MA.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I filed them electronically, and when I finished it said I would get an email stating it had been accepted by the Fed. I kept checking and didn't get an email so I went on to TaxAct to see if I could find out something there... and they said it was rejected due to incorrect employee id numbers

So I lost a whole week here.

It is Monday April 17th unless you live in Maine or Mass. then it's Tuesday the 18th because of Patriots Day.

If you live in Maryland it is Tuesday the 18th also because our federal taxes go to Massachusetts. The state followed the Federal guidelines.

don't feel bad, I haven't filed yet either.... I usually file on Jan 31, but I've been very lazy this year. And I get lots of money back!!!

Worse thing is....I'm always lazy when it comes to taxes...and I always get money back!
I've had the stuff sitting on my desk for 3 months now. Just lazy!
