Should I deactivate old tickets, magic bands, etc. before linking this trip's tickets (PH and MVMCP tickets) to my MDE account?

What "old tickets" do you have?

Do you not want to use any of your previous MagicBands for this trip?

I didn't know re-using MagicBands was an option; what is the life on the battery? We've had these since around July, 2014.

My MDE account shows one deactivated ticket (looks like an old KTTW card) as well as the ticket and magic band from our last trip (October 2014). I'm not sure when that old KTTW card is from, but I think I probably deactivated it sometime in 2014 before adding our park passes for our trip last October.

I was kind-of surprised that these all showed up in my account, and I don't want to get to Florida and find my FP+ are all messed up (nope, haven't linked the tickets yet- but I want to!).

All your old bands and cards will work, no reason to deactivate anything. Your fastpasses, dining, etc. aee on your account, not the individual bands. The bands that are linked are interchangeable. We get different colors each trip and color coordinate with outfits. I believe the battety life is 3 years.

That was the original speculation.
No guest MB has yet been around that long to know if that's the case.

Regardless, the "battery operated" section of a MB is only used for the "long-range" RFID stuff.
For GUESTS, that feature is now basically only useful for the few of attractions that offer on-ride videos and photos.

Everything else a MB is used for does not require the internal MB battery.
So, even a MB with a dead battery will still work for entering a park, entering a FP queue, operating a FP+ kiosk, opening a room door, charging purchases, and anything else that uses a "touch-point" interface.
You could say that the most useful part of a MB will remain usable "forever."

Are you sure?
If it's true, it could be a real game-changer.
Anyone know?
Why do I feel like I'm re-reading the post about Late Night busses at the Boardwalk taking you to your resorts :)

Your FP+ are attached to your account, not any specific ticket...so if you have more than one ticket on your account it won't matter which one you use to get into the park.

On that same note, if you have more than one ticket (say a 5 day and a 7 day), make sure the one you want to use is "on top" of your list. You need to go to guest relations or a ticket window at the park to do this...they can't do it at your resort.
