I'm in a real de-clutter mood at the moment as I'm getting ready for our big move in February and I want to make sure that we do not move anything that we don't want over to the new house.

Today I went through my wardrobes and drawers and managed to fill a whole sack of clothes that I no longer need (managed to sneak in a few of DH's as well-he won't miss them) and am gonna take them to the recycle place.

I was very ruthless putting things in the sack that I haven't worn in at least 6 months - I tried things on that I was unsure about just to make sure and if they looked bad I'd chuck them. There were clothes that I was saving because they were a little on the small side but I thought to heck with it if I lose more weight I'll just buy new clothes ;)

I feel very cleansed right now.

Now I have to start on the rest of the house - we're getting rid of old dinner services, cut glass sets, pyrex dishes, ornaments, books, videos etc. Even though it's getting colder are there still Car Boot Sales around that I can get rid of this stuff at ?

:wave2: Hi Sam

Im going through this as well as (hopefully) we are moving in about a month. In our area some of the local schools hold "indoor" boot sales in the winter months in their sports halls. Do you get a Yellow Advertiser or something, as they are usually listed in there. The ones in fields usually end in Sept, so you MIGHT be lucky and catch one of the very last ones this weekend (weather permitting).

If not, then there are quite a few charities that will collect donations. Our local PDSA will send a van round if you call them.

I see you are in Essex as well...are you moving to a new location or staying local?

We are excatly the same we have a whole room full of our old clutter, from prams to clothes etc... we are going to have a car boot in the next few weeks, Martyns brother has held a few in recent weeks and seems to have made a profit from his old junk, you could also consider shops like Oxfam etc....

Its hard work clearing out huh?
Good luck for the rest of the house :)

lol Sam, I think at the last count we'd filled something like 20 bin bags with clothes and other clutter!

(and as you saw from our wardrobes we still kept plenty too!):smooth:

Weel done Sam

I love having a good clean out :) Dont forget about ebay !!!

Ah, but it's good for the soul, flower:D

I remember seeing something on the telly yonks ago about clothes. If there's something in your wardrobe that you've not worn for a year, ditch it because you won't again:hyper:

Hmmm - I've had things in my wardrodge because "they might fit again some time" - ha ha!!

Go for it, bet you'll still fling loads of stuff once you've moved in to the new place as well.
