Right now I have the DDP booked but I was wondering what is the difference with the DDXp I know its more$$$ but how much more? And how much more food and is it to much food, because I always get stuck paying for some meals on the DDP.

Thanks
Jeanine

The deluxe plan is $69.99 per adult (10 and over) and $19.99 per child (3-9).

You receive three meal credits per night of your stay that can be used for either counter or table service, two snacks per night, and a refillable resort mug.

We are trying to decide this ourselves--DDP or DxDDP.

We possibly may do the Deluxe only because we are looking at many 2 credit restaurants.

Do you eat 3 meals a day at home?

I think I am going to stay with regular DDP only because when I did the math I still come out ahead with paying for a few meals here and there on the regular DDP. Thanks for all of your responses.

For our family trip next week (:cool1: ) we are doing the DxDP. I think it may be too much food for this trip, but I didn't pay for it, so I'm certainly not complaining! :lmao:

I'm going in January with my DBF and we originally planned for the DDP. However, we wanted to do at least one signature dining, so we'd end up paying OOP for at least one meal. So, we opted for the DxDP. We'll be doing 5 signature dining restaurants, we love to eat and the parks won't be open nearly as long as they are in July, so we figured we'd have a more time to eat. :rotfl: After doing the math (based on 2008 prices) we'll be saving a lot more on the DxDP even if we don't eat all the food.

If I was planning on doing signature restaurants I would get it but I am going in 5 weeks and I do not have any signature restaurants booked so i don't think it is going to work for me.

I had many of the same questions you had. I ran the numbers MANY times, and we always do the best financially with regular DDP and then paying OOP for extra meals not covered by that plan. I do think that if you want a signature meal several nights, then the deluxe works. However, if you are doing a standard TS a day and then have a few additional TS meals thrown in there (we have some breakfasts and one lunch at 50s Prime Time not covered by the standard DDP), then it's wiser by far to pay for those meals as you go.

I also looked at the difference numerous times. I have a very $$$ conscious DH and so I decided to go with the DxDDP. We are doing a TS every night and our DD wants to go to Norway for the princess breakfast as well as 1900PF. We are also staying at the CR so stopping at CMs for breakfast is definitely a possibility. The final thing that helped our decision is that we are going during Thanksgiving and the buffets and family style meal prices go up alot during this time, but are covered on the plans. With the deluxe plan, I know I can also get an appetizer with dinner whenever I want. The price is alot, but with 2-3 character breakfasts during the holidays, it pays for us to do deluxe.

i went last juln and i did the ddp. it was more then enough food for my mom and me. we ended up not using our snack credits untill the very last day there (because we were so full)and got a bunch of snacks for the plane ride home

We did dxdp and won't hesitate to use it again (depending on changes that next year may bring). We ate CS only three times; we're TS kind of people. We also did some 2-credit meals.

I liked the prepaid aspect (except for tips), I enjoyed sampling the appies and desserts, I liked not having to worry about prices (I wouldn't have been able to get over the food cost if we'd paid oop then and there), and I didn't think it was too much food. We did have leftover snack credits that we used to buy stuff from Goofy's to bring home.

I think it really depends on the person/family. We weren't there to rush from ride to ride and go go go. We took more of a leisurely attitude about our trip and really enjoyed our sit-down meals.
