DDXDP - Breakfast ?

A friend called me and asked this question, and I don't have any idea nor have I ever thought about it. On DDXDP... What is included with Breakfast ? just the entree ? juice included? coffee?

Her thought was if you get appetizer, entree and dessert for lunch and dinner, here is the example, Say they are having breakfast at Kona, they all will get a entree, with a drink of choice say they all get juice. Say that one of then want a smoothie, or coffee or yogurt parfait or extra side will that be OOP? She has 2 sons ie; the bottomless pit and the human garbage disposal She is just trying to figure out there options and budget.

I suggested that they eat buffet which they have a couple of ADR's, but her DH is not much for Buffets. Any help would be appreciated and any first hand experience's will be appreciated as well.

At Kona we got a meal & a drink. That's it. Another side will cost more, so will an extra drink. That's why we did it OOP. It wasn't worth a DxDDP credit to us. The only breakfast we used a credit on was Crystal Palace.

I guess it depends on where you eat. We have always done the DxDDP and I have been able to get up to 3 beverages no problem -- juice (if it's a buffet where included), coffee and a Diet Coke. Never, ever been charged extra. Even on the non-buffets I have been able to get both coffee and Diet Coke with no issues at all.

I've not done the dining plan, but when I went with my parents and sister last year, we debated on the deluxe. If you have not already looked at the plan breakdown here is a good place to look at the breakdown: WDW Dining Plan PDF Links.

From what I see on the 2011 Deluxe Dining, breakfast is one entree and a non-alcoholic drink, or 1 full buffet.

Our breakfasts have all been buffets with juice & sodas for us. We've done CRT & Askerhaus but I guess those are considered 'family style' but with them we also got juice and another beverage.

We've always had 2 drinks on the DxDDP at Kona.

He gets the Lilikoi Juice and an Iced Tea
I get OJ and Kona Blend Coffee

Its one beverage only. If your server gave you 2 each it was a bonus and not something you should expect everytime.

Whether to expect it or not we have always gotten 2 beverages at table service breakfast.........never tried it for a smoothie tho, just juice and soda.

The dining plan used to say you get 2 beverages for breakfast...they changed it to read one non-alcoholic beverage and your entree.

We just ate breakfast on the DxDP Sunday morning 10/30/2011 and the server was careful to make sure we understood only one beverage was allowed (this was at Whispering Canyon/wilderness lodge) She had first asked if we had used the dining plan before,and when we said yes, many times, that's when she told us they changed the beverage entitlement.

So, I agree with PP who said don't count on getting 2 beverages...if you do, it's pixie dust.

I'm wondering if you could get a smoothie as your beverage? I could not find where it gave drink options only stated non- alcoholic beverage. What's your thoughts?

At Whispering CAnyon lunch on Saturday, yes you could get the smoothie for lunch beverage (Server was careful to tell us there were no refills on the smoothies, though. You do get refills on the bottomless milkshakes on the dining plan.)

At Whispering Canyon breakfast, the answer was "sorry, no" on whether we could get the smoothie with breakfast. Server said juice, soft drinks, coffee or tea were the beverages allowed for breakfast.

Course, this is Disney...land of inconsistency, lol. You may get a totally different answer when you go, so I always say doesn't hurt to ask. You may get it

We have deluxe for our next trip and really do think that you now get a very poor deal on breakfast on this plan. We'll either have a buffet or make do with a snack and have an early lunch for better use of a credit.

That said, I now think the breakfast is a poor offering on any plan, I dont understand why Disney cant let you have a piece of fresh fruit as your dessert item at breakfast.
