they are 24 & 30 :flower:

We have seen the lines and heard the bad reviews-but they want to experience it for themselves.
So; the question is-

Breakfast,brunch or dinner?

Additionally- are the lines always ridiculous ?!

I've never had any line issues (waiting for food or waiting for my name after I sign in with my ADR). I mean maybe you have to wait five minutes to get in and then a minute or two in the buffet line for food. I don't think it is the best ever, but we usually go once a year. I'd probably pick breakfast ... scrambled eggs and Mickey waffles taste the same about anywhere on property.

It's a buffet. Does your family like those? It's pretty standard fare. There are only so many ways to make a Mickey waffle!

But you get pictures with Mickey and Friends! So I think it's worth it - though I loooooooooove character interaction.

I never saw a long line - not compared to some ride lines LOL! There was about 5 minutes of waiting while the Photopass people took our obligatory shot in front of the restaurant. After that, we were seated and the whole meal took about an hour.

Your DD's are old enough to not put straws up their nose, throw scrambled eggs at Goofy, or vomit all over the table so I would say, try every TS you think might be fun. It should be fun! Enjoy!

We ate there as a party of 10 in December, Me (30), Roomie (33), Dad(62), Stepmom(51), Uncle(65), Sister(35), Bro-in-law(36), Niece(13), Niece(12), and Nephew(8). We had a 10:30 breakfast ADR, and did have a little wait, but not anything I would consider outlandish, and the food lines were never crazy. Every single one of us fully enjoyed it, so much so that I couldn't believe how much it gets trashed online. So I would say breakfast or brunch would be a yes for me.

On the other hand, one of my close friends who is a frequent guest has said after this last time, she will never do dinner again. The food quality for what you pay is no longer worth it to her. I haven't been for dinner though, so I can't really verify.

Pretty standard buffet. I've always gone for breakfast, it was good enough - not noteworthy in either direction. We typically do it as our very last bit of magic before hopping back home - no parks after, etc. Nice little endcap to the trip. The characters are adorable in their chef get-up and it is my favorite character dining experience.

I've never had a particularly good food experience with non-breakfast, non-Boma buffets at Disney in general.

I've only been for dinner so I can't speak for the other meals.
I enjoy the food.
My sister and I did get very sick after eating there last time so we have avoided it the last few trips but we are not opposed to going back but we have been trying out new to us restaurants the last few trips and have found some that have become our new must do's so not sure when we will make it backto CM.

Not sure what lines you're talking about?
You check in and get your pic taken and then wait to be called.
Once something must have happened and people that came way after us were being seated before us and my niece who was 3 and a very healthy eater was so hungry she started crying so a CM came over to see what was wrong and we told them we had been waiting to be seated for a very long time and she was very apologetic and gave my niece a juice box and then within a minute we were seated again being apologized to due to the mix up.
There were so many issues with every aspect of our trip that year that that was probably the least of our problems so we just rolled with it.

We felt the same way. Our DD was turning 21 and she wanted to eat there. We surprised her by flying 4 of her close friends to meet us in Disney. On her actual birthday we ate there for breakfast. We were staying in the CR so it made it so easy. The food was better than I expected after reading all of the reviews. There are a lot of characters and all of us enjoyed it. It was my DH and I and 8 kids with ages ranging from 14 to 21 years old. They all loved it. We had a 10:50am reservation and while we were there they were changing to lunch - so many people got to eat lunch food too. But I will say that my DH and another guest wanted some more biscuits and gravy and they were out. My DH asked nicely and they said they were out of them and the other person started yelling and started a scene. My DH apologized to the cast member after the other person walked away because he felt bad for her. He told her not to worry about how the other person acted and to have a nice day. A few minutes later she walked over to our table with 4 biscuits and gravy and she thanked him for being so kind. We were so touched. So Chef Mickey has a special place in our heart from that one cast member.

I would try it and make your own decision.

We had dinner there in December and the food was fine. Definitely not amazing but standard buffet food. I did think the desserts were really good! But the real reason to go... the characters! I thought they were great, not rushed, playful with my kiddos. My daughter had a red polka dot dress on and Minnie gushed over it and danced with her. Best characters of our trip hands down!!!

I've never eaten there, but I own DVC at BLT and used to stay at CR before that. Interesting that people say no lines as I have lots of memories of big long lines of people waiting to get in for dinner - one of the reasons I never bothered to eat there.

While not my favorite, our DD always wants to eat there. The best time we have had for dinner was late - like 8:30. It was soooooo quiet. The kids that were there were pretty tired. And surprisingly I think they replenished the food more often. The ribs were so good (and I'm not a big rib eater). The character interaction was great (last year we went on dd's b-day) and they spent a lot of time with her. We've done breakfast a couple of times but I like desserts better so we usually now go for dinner :).

We've done dinner once and breakfast 3x. We preferred breakfast. The dinner was fine, but the breakfast food was better.

We had brunch and really enjoyed it. We did have to wait about half an hour after our adr time to be seated and our waitress was the worst we've had, but we would definitely go back for brunch again.

We've only done breakfast. We had a very early ADR and the food, though uninspired, was fine and fresh. We also saw all five characters quickly because we were one of the first few tables seated. Interactions were good. We are staying at CR in August and DS wanted to do breakfast there again so I booked another 7:00am ADR. Based on our experience, I'd say breakfast isn't a bad choice if you have realistic expectations.

Breakfast. Been twice, liked it enough the first time to go back. Fun character experience
