DD's surprise birthday trip

On Tuesday DH and I swung by the travel agent and paid for the remainder of our Disneyland trip scheduled for April 12-19. DD will be celebrating her 5th birthday down there and she has no idea we're going.

We're going to throw her a small party a few days before we leave (kind of a diversion, if you will), and we'll give her an invitation from "the Disney characters" which will read:

You’re turning five, dear Meleigha! What a wonderful thing!
There should be fireworks, parades and beautiful songs to sing,
Countless memories to make and magic galore,
Flying elephants, jumping jelly-fish, great adventure in store,
Spinning teacups and a pretty carousel of gold.
Characters of plenty with stories to be told:
Lilo and Stitch, Piglet and Pooh Bear,
Goofy and Pluto are just a few you’ll see there.
The Princes and Princesses, including Snow White
Are all wanting to make your birthday more than just right.
So with this letter they extend the invitation,
To travel to Disneyland for a royal celebration --
Only five sleeps to go, so pack your bags, little one
Great times at Disney, lots of laughter and fun!
Happy birthday, Meleigha, and best wishes too,
Have a safe trip, we can’t wait to see you!

I'm so excited... I can't wait to see the expression on her face when she realizes we're off to Disneyland for a week!

Oh, I know you are all going to have a great time.
We will be doing the same thing with our granddaughter who will be turning 3. We will be going Feb 11 to the 17th. I am so excited as I am sure you are.

I took my granddaughter to Disneyland for her 5th birthday she loved it. And she is still talking about it. But than again we go every yr. The front desk called the morning of her birthday and wished her a happy birthday she swears it was mickey
