DD's school put on a Patriotic Concert tonight!

My DD's school in honor of our country, put on a Concert tonight with all Patriotic songs. It was a great thing. They had one of the kids tell a story, recite poetry and tell some history about our great land.

aw the chior i'm in did that last year.. we sang 'We Shall Be Free' with all 4 choirs together.. like 150 kids!

My 5th grader did a similar show right before the election. It was actually very moving - hearing 120 10 year old recite the Preamble to the Constitution in low lighting just did something to me - that and a song they sang entitled "Freedom Isn't Free".
Oh & it was really cute how they corrected the "white man settled this land" myth - woman, Native Americans - even mentioned those who walked across the Bering Strait. Made me proud to be an American. Thanks for reminding me Lynn.
