DD's School Out Until Next Tuesday Due To Charley

We had expected DD to return to school on Wednesday, but they have decided that it is not safe to return children to some of the Orange county schools. If some schools in the county are out, all are out. They will not return until a week from tomorrow. DD thinks this great now. Wait until she has to make the days up at the end of the year!

Or has a shortened Christmas or Easter break. Then it really sinks in. Been there and done that one after Andrew.

WOW! Here in Lake county, my daughter went back to school today, they had Friday off. My neighbors kids go to school in Polk county and they are off all week. My daughter was upset that she had to go but they didn't until I reminded her that they will still be in school when she is done in May to make up the missed days.

My grandson in Winter Haven is off until next Monday. All the local government offices and the library are closed for the week as well. I did hear somewhere that they are asking the state to just excuse the week off - i.e. they won't have to make it up at the end.
