DD12 took her ipod on a long bus ride/field trip - they couldn't leave anything on the bus - so her touch was in a bag all day - in the heat - getting banged around - sigh :confused3. (I was not aware she took it - which is a TOTALLY different subject! :headache:) When they got back on the bus for the ride home - it was dead - and has been for a week now.

She has had this for about 18 months - so no warranty (that I know of).

Does anyone have any experience in trying to jumpstart/reset an ipod Touch?

Take it to the Apple store. DD has had different problems and she has gone back to the store and often it was a quick reset.

Personally, I know nothing about them.:rotfl:

The first thing that I would do is try to do a reset. This is done by holding the sleep button and home button. After ten seconds, the Apple logo should appear.

DD has had a couple instances when her's stopped working and has been able to reset it somehow. I'm sorry that I don't know how.

If you're unsure, take it to the Genius Bar in your local Apple Store. They'll know what to do :)

Thanks for the replies! The closest Apple store is about 100 miles away - we're planning a trip down that way later in the month - so we will definitely take it with us. Thanks for the suggestion!

In the mean time, do a reset and see if that fixes it.

Sorry... I meant to say that we did try the reset and it didn't work. I found another option on the Apple site - which I will try tonight. Thanks again!
