My 15 year old DD has her first date tonight to something that is not a school function. She had a date to a school dance before, but she has a date for pizza and a movie. She has known this boy since she was five. They actually went to the same daycare for years, but she hasn't seen him since he left at age twelve. He is two years older than her. Today, we ran into him and his mother at the mall. His mom had worked at the daycare. We talked for a little while and then continued to walk around the mall. Awhile later, they hunted us down so that he could get our phone number. I guess he was impressed with DD! She is excited, but nervous because he is older and she doesn't know him very well. He goes to a different high school. I think I may be more nervous than DD. I have always been leary of allowing car dates with older boys. Call me old fashioned! I don't know why I'm nervous. She's a great kid and I know that she has a good head on her shoulders. He seems to be a very nice boy. Oh, my baby! I'm not ready for this!

Oh, how exciting for your DD, and how nerve-racking for you! Did you help her get ready, do hair, makeup, etc.? Or is she more of an "I'll do it myself, Mom!" kind of teen? I hope she has a great time and that this boy treats her well!princess: Another milestone....:)

My first date was when I was 15 and the boy was 17 and he drove. We went to pizza and a movie as well, I think. I had an 11PM curfew, and he had me home by 1045PM. My parents LOVED that!!!!!!! He was actually a great kid, and a super guy to have as your first boyfriend. Hopefully your DD will have a terrific time!!!!!

I'm actually older than DBF by 6 months or so,but my paretns still worried(but my mom likes him)

Well, they had a good time. He asked her out again. She is going to ask him to her Sadie Hawkins dance. I really feel old!!! I'm happy and sad at the same time.

I'm glad that she had such a good time--and also glad that you survived her first date!:faint:

Glad to hear they had fun! I was really excited when DD (13) went to homecoming with her boyfriend. They went out to dinner first, and I was more nervous than she was! You will have to keep us posted on how things go.
