She's going to be 11 in 2 weeks, and we were going through the 'big party', 'sleepover', 'pool party' decisions again. Then she came up with an idea for the coolest party - well, I think so anyway. Instead of a big party, she asked if we could take her and 2 of her friends to see Aida on Broadway. We saw it 2 years ago, loved it, and still play the CD over and over.
So, I popped onto Ticketmaster, found a discount code!, and got five 2nd row Mezz seats , dead center, for a Saturday matinee. For about the same as a party would run us.
We're going to Carmine's on 44th St for lunch (her favorite place, and as any NY DIS'er knows, an awesome, family stye Italian Restaurant in the theatre district that's always impossible to get ressie's at) it was kismet - no problem getting a table for 5 at noon before the matinee.
OK, so it's her birthday - but I can't wait!
