DD (16 YO) was shopping with a friend yesterday. Found a dress for $30 for their school's turn-about dance. She really liked it. Dress was half price. DD thought it was a door buster, but wasn't quite sure. Whatever...she came home yesterday without it.
I explained to DD - whenever an opportunity like that comes up - always find out the return policy. (This store has a great return policy -so there wouldn't have been any issues.)
DH and I were out running errands today, got home about 12:20. DD still kicking herself about not buying the dress yesterday. This store had a Saturday coupon only good until 1:00. We were in the car about 3 minutes later, and got to the store about 2 minutes to one. Yesterday, the dress was on a doorbuster until 1pm for 1/2 off. Today, the dresses were just 50% off (no doorbuster) so we got to use the $10 off a $25 purchase. Final cost of the dress was just under $20 including tax.
I'm glad DD mentioned something again today about wanting the dress. I would much rather spend $20 than $60 for something they ONLY can wear 1 time.
She "beat" the cost of her homecoming dress from 2009 by about $0.50.
