I loved reading about your AR. I would love to try this with my kids, which would put a new spin on Disney.

I absolutely love this report.
My family are big Amazing Race fans. I'd love to do something like this, but unfortunately, I'm not as creative as you are. I would, however, pay money if someone else set it all up, and had my family split up into teams... like me and DS15 against DH and DS10, that would be cool... even if there is no prize, we're pretty competetive to just get the winner's bragging rights

Something that would be cool, but probably on the expensive side would be to hava a pit stop along the way in a two day "race" and have the pit stop be a night in a hotel other than the one you're staying in.

If any readers out ther decide to go into business doing this, let me know, I'd splurge as a treat for my family sometime.

Your DD is extremely fortunate to have you as her mother.

My DS and I are huge fans of Amazing Race too! We really enjoy watching the race together. We are planning a summer trip to WDW and this would be fantastic for him.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and ideas! I think it will lots of fun for me to plan for him. This will only be his second time to WDW, and he has not seen Disney dollars or done the passport at Epcot so this will be perfect. I had already planned on doing the passport around Epcot so this idea will just make it that much more fun.

I think I will begin with some of your clues and modify them for my son and our family. Like you, I also have a younger child, she is 5. So, I think I will make sure the rules state something about that this race segment is not about how fast he completes the activities but on how well he does them.
That way, he hopefully will not feel a sense of urgency to move through the tasks as quickly as possible. I want to be able to enjoy our tour of Epcot as a family without driving my husband and DD insane!

Would you be willing to share the artwork for the envelope designs with me? I would greatly appreciate it!

It was wonderful! You did a really great job! I am so happy I got to be a small part of the race. (I should have volenteered to come along to hide the clues!)

You know you could have bothered me for that "speed bump" design. I had a great time making the the route markers for you, since I love the Amazing Race also!

On a side note, if anyone wants the designs I still have them saved on my photobucket account.
