Hi although we have been traveling to Disney since 1992 with Virgin, We are a little confused on two points.
Firstly, in the past we have been members of the frequent Virgin club and your benefit was 10% discount, but got kicked out as we had a period where we did not book between 2004 and 2008:mad:

However we went in 2009 and are going again this August (just me and my wife, first time ever without the children) ,so with two bookings are allowed back in the club (awaiting our frequent card). It seems any tom ,dick or harry can get 10% by booking online now, so does the frequent club give an additional 5% making a total of 15%?? cant make this bit out.

Secondly we now have grown up children ,all finished with university and schools, so we dont have to go in school holidays as from next year:thumbsup2

We are looking at going 2011 August 29th or 30th for 15 nights, me ,wife, son, daughter and sons girlfriend. To the Disney port Orleans for 11 nights then off to the beach for the other 4.
We see that in the virgin brochure the Disney dining plan is free during that time if you stay at at moderate hotel, for more than 5 nights, and buy a 7 day pass is that correct? its represents a large saving as most spending money goes on food. How does the DDP work do we get 5 daily allowances each day, is it £32 GBP? can you go to any restaurant in the parks and all Disney hotels? can you book when your there or do you book from the UK in advance?

Im sure this is all basic stuff if you have done it before, but its confusing if you have not.

Thanks in advance:)

There is a sticky at the top that explains the DDP in detail, how to figure your meal credits and which restaurants take them. Basically, you get a table service, a counter service, and a snack credit each, for each night that you stay. Most of the sitdown restaurants take one TS credit; signature restaurants (California Grill, Jiko, Citrico to name a few) take two. It really is plenty of food.

Don't know a thing about the virgin club. :)

Its not as straight forward in the UK. For moderate resorts we only get Quick service Dining plan not the regular DDP.

virginatlantic, Have you considered doing it yourself rather than a package? I am still in Virgin Frequent club(I think) but the saving are not worth using for our dates in August.
We also wouldn't be happy with QSDDP, we like a proper meal in the evenings. Doing DIY you can get OKW or SSR cheaper than the moderates as Disney give 42% off these 2 resorts and free regular DDP.
Might help you to read the DDP brochure, this years here for regular DDP, lists all places you can eat. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...DisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2010Dining_updated2.pdf
Youjust need to buy a minimum of 5 day pass but I think they still offer 5, 7 or 14 days all for same price for this year, not looked at next year yet. Ask again if I missed anything or you need more help on what I have said.
