DDP with resort or package?

I am in the process of coordinating a group trip to WDW (Grad Nite). We qualify for group ticket rates, but not group accomodations.

Can I book DDP if I only book rooms through Disney, or do I have to book rooms and tickets together in order to qualify for DDP?

Uggg... it appears I have found the answer to my own question - "The Disney Dining Plan is an option available exclusively to Guests of Disney Resort hotels with Magic Your Way Vacation Packages."

Grrrr... there is no DDP offered with Grad Nite tickets - just meal vouchers.

Price it both ways, there are some good promotions at the moment.
