DDP with Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Can you use your TS meals to book the Fantasmic Dinner package at MGM? Any restrictions on this?

Yes, you just have to book the Fantasmic Package and they will ask you for a credit card #. They don't bill you unless you don't show. I did the same and we have the DDP.

H&V and Mama Melrose are 1TS per person
Brown Derby is 2TS per person

PLEASE!!!! Avoid Hollywood & Vine at all cost. Last year we could not eat the garbage they served..very uncharacteristic of Disney..Dinner was horrible. Complained to Disney but received no response...

We just returned from our trip and ate at H & V 2 times, and the food was good both times. Granted it was not filet Mignon or seafood, but it was good.

We did it last trip at H&V our dinner time was like 5:30 for fantasmic package. Food was so-so. This summer we are doing fantasmic package at Mama Melroses and see how that fares. Our dinner time is 6:00pm.

We have eaten at Mama Melrose's with the fantasmic package in the past and it was very good. It is on our list for this years trip. Enjoy!!

You couldn't be more right. I can't believe how awful that place was. It looked like were in a resturant while its under construction. Its not cute. Its not kitshy, its just HORRIBLE.

Like the others have said, yes you can use your credits (2 for Brown Derby) but you will be asked for a credit card to hold if you are a no show/no cancellation.

We went to H&V last fall and enjoyed everything. No complaints here, definitely not something I would say to avoid at all costs. Perhaps it has to do with expectations? I pretty much knew what I was 'getting myself into' . I chose it because it was our first full day of our trip, I was nervous about how my 4 year olds would do being on the go all day so having a buffet was convenient in case they weren't too receptive to the whole 'fancy dinner' thing. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the service, food and my children were!

We are planning on getting the Fantasmic Pkg for our first day, using the DDP. I had read on other threads that it might be hard to get a time during the typical dinner hours. What's the latest you can make a PDR (or is this a firm reservation) for an 8:30 Fantasmic show?

I booked it for 4:30. I figure we can do a late breakfast, the dinner then the show later. We'll see how it works out in April

We are going over Easter this April and we booked Mama Melrose and didn't have a choice on times, everything was booking up very quickly. We are eating at 3:30 with the Fantasmic package. This was the first available time after checking the first four days of our trip first. It really depends on how busy it is and how quickly it fills up. I'm not sure what the actual "latest" dinner time is. 3:30 seems awfully early to me, but for the package we'll deal with it! Have a great time.

Does anyone know if there will be more than one Fantasmic show the week of March 18? That is a peak period time. I have ADR for MM for DD5 and myself. Right now I am not that excited about seeing Fantasmic and would almost rather take advantage of EMH at AK that evening. Can anyone tell me what is all the fuss about Fantasmic? Would there be a 7:00 show in March or maybe it won't be dark yet? Even with an 8:00 maybe I could still hop over to AK? Thanks.

What they do is give you an "Admission pass" that tells you what time you need to be at a certain place for the Fantasmic.

We had 4:30 reservation, and finished about 5:30, so we took in a few attractions and then went to the meeting point. We were told to be there by 6:30, they lock the gates at 6:30 and if you are not there you miss out.

Thanks for the link dfarner. I see that on Monday, March 19 there is a 10:00 show. I think I will try for that. We do have Ohana ADR at 6:30 after spending day at AK and won't want to feel rushed. After reading this site I don't think I want to waste money on dinner package. Considering canceling dinner package and planning on going Monday for 10pm show with dd5. Maybe that's a bit much for dd so I guess I will have to mull it over. There is so much to do and so little time!!!! Is the best way to get to MGM from Poly to take the bus transportation?

I have to agree, Fantasmic is a must-see.

We were at WDW June 2006, and did H&V for Fantasmic package. Dinner was ok, not the best meal we had during our vacation, but not horrible, either. And even though we ate dinner early that day--4:30 (I prefer a later dinner), we were able to use snack credits for drinks and popcorn during the show, which didn't start until 9. It was a wonderful, memorable evening.

Thanks so much for this link - I've been trying to find the schedules. We're going in April. Can you take food into the Fantasmic seating area. I'd love to do a "take out" and eat while we're waiting for the show.
