DDP with CM room rates?

I am a DLR AP holder. I'm planning on upgrading to Premier for my upcoming April trip to WDW.

I'm also going to WDW in June. I'm using my AP and we're buying my cousins' tickets through my DBF who is a CM here in Seattle. We're also booking the room with his discount (they're allowed a certain amount of friends and family rooms a year).

Can we still add DDP to our reservation? If we can, do we add it at time of booking or can we do it upon check in? Does it affect our deposit amount?

Sorry for all of the questions. I'm trying to decide if we should or even can do DDP or if I should just get TiW.

TIA!

The CM who is booking for you will have to check and see if there is a DDP available for your reservation, and whether or not a discount is being offered for it.

I know we won't get a discount on DDP, but I would still like to add it. There is a promo now for DDP discounts for friends and family, but only through March 31st.

You still have to get the cast member to check and see if they can add it. Nobody else can check.

Is your cousin a park employee? If not, you may want to double check if he can get the discount without being there. You usually cannot add the DDP without a promotion and it depends on where he works. For example, the DDP may only available to Florida CMs.

I didn't see if you said this or not, but I hope the CM is coming with you. When my girlfriend booked us a room during her CP, she had to check us in and provide her CM ID. If the CM isn't going you might have to pay the difference between the CM rate and normal people rate. :confused3

My boyfriend is a CM. I will be the one booking the room over the phone. I just have to give them his ID number and provide copies of ID before check in. We've done that before.

He's allowed a discount on five rooms a year that he is not staying in. Four of those will be used in April.

I'm not too worried about the room part, just the DDP. If I can't get it, then we'll do TiW. I should just book it this week and find out over the phone.

I did not think it was correct for the cast member to give out their employee information to other persons for the purpose of claiming discounts. Any cast members on the board could probably say. Maybe it is different for non-WDW cast members.

At any rate you are not a cast member and I'm not sure if they will tell you. But you will have to ask, because it totally depends on what is available for cast member reservations at the time you book. DDP is not always available all the time for cast reservations.

I've booked all of the reservations for our trips and my own. He is my "domestic partner." Disney doesn't recognize opposite sex domestic partnerships for benefit purpose, either discount or insurance related. So I do not have my own silver pass.
I'm not going go into the whole "not getting married" thing. ;)

I understand that they're not supposed to use CM discounts for others. Just like when we are at the Disney store (or even at the parks) he has to be the one to purchase merchandise in order to use his discount. It's their policy. I know it well.

I am the one who does the booking because he doesn't want to sit on the phone. He does it all day at work. He's in the room with me. Sometimes the CM on the phone will speak to him for verification, and sometimes they won't. Again, they are allowed room discounts for friends and family. He will not be going on this particular trip, and he will be giving me use of one of his allotted discounts.

I'm not trying to cheat the system. I know WDW and DLR CMs have certain discounts that corporate doesn't, and vice versa.

Does he have access to the portal? It is easy to make reservations there and you could see what discount is available.

Something's up with his HUB page. There wasn't an option for him to change who the reservation was for. The only option was "Myself." Even if he did make a reservation for himself, it didn't have the option to add DDP. He asked what to do and they said to just call.

I know they have a promo code for discounted room and DDP for family and friends, but it's only through March.

I have done a vacation on the CM discount, both when I went with a friend and then when I was a CM. Sometimes the CM is not able to get a discount on the DP (that doesn't mean you can't add it, it would just be regular price). Both times we were able to get the discount.

However, the cast member had to be there to check us in. When I was a cast member I could book the room for other people, and I did not have to stay in it, but I did have to check them in. Something to check into. (It was the same for when we were dining or buying merchandise...I had to be there).
