I need some help. We are having an extended family vacation in June. There will be 7 people compling of 3 different families. I have already booked a 2 bedroom villa @ BC so the ressies are taken care of. The Villa is in my name and I had to list everyone who would be saying with us. Me, my DH and DS will be on the DDP. Does that mean that the other families need to be on the DDP too since they are staying in the villa with us?:rolleyes1 :upsidedow :scared:

Sorry, everyone on the ressie is either on the DDP or not. There's no way to split it up unless you make different ressies (each family on a different ressie)

The only way to do it would be to book a 1 bedroom and studio separate (with no guarantee that they can be connected).

...which means different villas from the folks on DDP.

Hopefully, you 've looked at DDP 2008 and understand what you will get ... because it's changed radically from 2007 and prior.

Thanks for the help. How will the tips at the TS be handled? Will it be 18% of the total bill (for all 3 families) or can we get seperate "checks" for each family?

Regardless of how you pay the bill (DDP, DDE, cash, etc), if there are six or more in your party, an automatic 18% gratuity will be added. You can certainly get separate checks, but if there are six or more, they will add 18% to each check.

To clarify further, if anyone in your villa is on DDP, every person in the villa must be on DDP for the entire duration of the stay.

When you go to a meal, regardless of how anyone is paying, if there are six or more in the party, the entire party will have an automatic 18% gratuity added to every check. That has nothing to do with DDP; it's because of the size of your party.

Everyone will need to be on the DDP in one villa. And, if you check in before they do, you will be paying for everyone's dining plan when you check in.

The kicker here? Every room ID for your villa will have access to all the dining credits. So if someone doesn't really understand the way it works and they don't stick with you the entire time, they might use up all the snack credits, counter service credits, table service credits before you get to use yours.

Have you thought about getting an AP and purchasing the Disney Dining Experience card instead?

As Deb and Bill said, it can be confusing with multiple family groups on one reservation. That is especaially true of the DDP! We had EVERYONE turn in their DDP reciepts each night to make sure we had an accuarte accounting. We also had family groups track thier snack, counter and TS credits on a check off list. As it turned out, we ended up gifting a couple of TS credits to one of the other families, but that was our choice.
