I am going on the land/sea package for my honeymoon. We are on the dining plan so we have 4 TS for each of us. We have our ADRs all ready but was just curious as to which meals everyone thinks we should pay on our own. Here is the list:

Sun - LeCellier
Mon- CRT
Tues - Coral Reef
Wed - Tusker House (lunch), Brown Derby (dinner)

Le Cellier will be on the dining plan because we almost paid for the plan with just that mean in how much we stayed. We both got the most expensive steak. So we have 3 more TS meals but CRT takes 2. DO we pay for CRT on our own but then "waste" and TS on a lunch at Tusker? OR shoudl we pay for TH and CR on our own? LeCellier and CRT are the ones we have been to before of the group. Any suggestions?

So... you're staying 4 nights?

You have a total of 7 TS "credits" listed... on the basic DDP, I'd suggest paying OOP for either CRT or Brown Derby (check menu prices for better one to drop) and the Tusker House lunch (buffets are generally not the best "value" on DDP).

Alternatively, upgrade to DxDP (for about $132/pp), and just book another 5 credits. ;)

Rough guestimate, assuming CRT for lunch (middle-of-the-road price), you'll be paying $19.99 (TH) plus $37.99 (CRT) plus tax (6.5%) = $61.75 -- for another $70.25 per person, you'd get 5 more meal credits and 4 additional snacks per person, plus the "resort mug" -- even using the extra meal credits at CS places probably gets you a tiny bit ahead. ETA: plus, you get appetizers!

yes the BD is 2 TS credits also so you would need to pay OOP for 2 meals.

Just e-mailed my TA at Dreams to find the cost difference for DxDP. I think we may go this way. DxDP with a cruise after it could mean a lot of extra working out when we get bback but it will be well worth it. LeCellier is our fav place and we got engaged at CRT last year. Booked CR because of the diver and menu but then they canceled it. We thought we would try it out anyway. TH we are using to save time and get seating for Nemo and have always wanted to try Brown Derby. Looks like a lot of foor there. Add in the snacks and then all of the food on the Wonder. WOW

And, just checking again... your resort stay is 4 nights, not 3 nights/4 days? DDP credits are allocated per night, not per day...

Back to square one. First, yes, it is 4 nights. My TA got back to me and I can't upgrade. I have the land/sea package and that is through DCL. DCL only offers the regular dining so I am back to my origional question.

LeCellier (diner)
CRT (dinner - 2TS)
Coral Reef (dinner)
Tusher House (lunch)
Brown Derby (dinner - 2TS)

Thinking it might be cheepest to use DDP for LeCellier, CR, and BD and pay OOP for CRT and TH.

Any thoughts?

I'd call directly to verify the upgrade to Deluxe, doesn't make sense to me. If you do upgrade I'd switch CRT to breakfast and book Narcoossee's of CA Grille for dinner that day. I'd also consider Boma vs Tusker House (Bome bfast or dinner) since you aren't doing the character meal at TH.

We want the CRT dinner because we kinda want to redo the engagement from last year and that was a dinner. We chose the Tusker House lunch because we will get the seating for Nemo with our lunch. I may make a few additiond if I can get the deluxe but my TA has been right about every other thing she has told me so far.

I agree with the earlier advice to pay oop for Brown Derby dinner and Tusker lunch.

Tusker because it is a lunch buffet and that is probably the least expensive meal you have booked by at least $10pp.

Brown Derby for dinner because the total average meal there is around $42pp (i.e., the cost of the food which you would normally receive on the credits form the ddp), which is not really worth using half of your credits for, and since you're going to be oop anyway you can feel free to enjoy their appetizer menu (which would not be covered by ddp credit in any case), some of which we find actually outshine some of the entree choices there.
