DDP - Using Dining Plan for only *one* diner?

So, DH and I are on the regular dining plan, and would like to dine at a Signature restaurant, and I was just basically going to use the credits and pay OOP for one of our other TS meals.

I was thinking - could we just use the 2 required credits for ONE diner, and pay for the other diner out of pocket? I'd really prefer to have just a soup and appetizer myself, so it would work out better if DH got the entree/dessert that came with the DDP.

Would we just tell the server that only one of us is using the dining plan? Or is this not allowed due to sharing? I'm not really sure how this works.

Thank you! :thumbsup2

This is definitely allowed. Just let your server know that your DH will be paying using the DDP and you'll be paying OOP.

You are actually allowed to share on the DDP as long as everybody sharing is also on the DDP.

Yes you can do this. You just have to make sure your server knows before they ring up the order which meal will be DDP and which will be paid for.

another idea is to make sure the more expensive dinner is on the DDP. We were on DDP in 2008 and a few at the table were not. The waitress actually put the more expensive dinners on the DDP bill and the out of pocket were the lesser costing.
