DH & I are taking our 3 children to WDW for the first time this December. During one of our evenings, we plan to have a babysitter for our children while DH & I go to a 8:00 ADR at Le Cellier. The problem is how to utilize the chidren's TS meals for that day. We will have one adult & child meal to use (our 3rd child is 2, oldest is 12).

We will already be in Epcot that day because DH is doing the Living Seas Aqua Tour, but we have to take the kids back to the room & then go back again. Ideally, we'd be able to get the 2 meals to go at Epcot & have the kids eat in the room. But I think I read where take-out at TS restaurants is not done, is that right?

Our other thought is while DH is doing the Aqua Tour, I could take the kids for a TS lunch at an Epcot restaurant. But since I need to hold onto my TS meal for Le Cellier later that night, do I need to order a meal with the kids? Or would they allow us to split up the adult & kid meals and pay oop if we need additional food? If we could do that for lunch, we could just use their CS at the resort for dinner when we bring them back. I hope I am making sense. It's just hard to know how to use our DDP meals for this day when we've never been there.

TIA! --- Lisa :sunny: :)

You're making perfect sense, and should have no problem taking your kids to a TS meal for lunch and sharing 2 TS credits between the 4 of you. If 2 TS meals won't be enough food, you could always pay OOP for an extra appetizer, entree or kids' meal. Just make sure to leave some room for Le Cellier! And you're right, you likely will not be able to use your TS credits for take out. The restaurants are already so busy, they just can't manage take out food on top of those dining in the restaurant.

One thing to keep in mind is you don't have to use exactly 1 TS per person per day. So you could skip the TS meal with the kids that day, but book an extra TS meal on another day, at which you could use your last 2 credits and pay OOP for the rest.

We found an exception to this at ESPN the first week of November, but I'm not sure if they'll continue or if it is allowed consistantly depending on the staff of the day.

DH & DS12 placed a large order, intending to meet up with us at our studio in an hour or two. First they were told to order at the bar, then the bar staff sent them back to the dining podium to order. This went on twice. The manager came out and told DH they were working on a new process for take-out, apologized for the inconvenience, sat them down to watch the big screen TV and comped DH a cocktail for the confusion.

They sat there for an hour. Finally the food came out to go, and the manager comped the whole order because of the chaos. Worked out well for us, they made it right, but I'm not sure how others might experience it.

After all the disorganization, they may just choose to scrap the take-out option, but it was available then.
