DDP Upgrade Question

I am looking into booking a (for a planner, LOL) last minute trip coming up. Hoping to get free dining but obviously there are not a lot of options left. One was at ASMu in a family suite. I know that at the Values you get the QSDP and then if you want the regular plan you pay the difference.

My question is, does this upgrade have to be done beforehand or can you pay at check in to upgrade?

It has to be done no later than 3 days before your check in date. It must be paid for at the time you make the upgrade and there will be a $15 paperwork fee since it is within 2 weeks of arrival.
