DDP, TiW, or both?

Well, since I think we are convinced to get the AP's, can y'all give advice on the DDP vs TiW? Right now we are leaning towards doing both because we think $75 for TiW would pay for itself after a few trips of purchasing things that the DDP doesn't cover (i.e. adult beverages, etc).

Thanks.

We use the TiW card all the time!!

We never get the paid dining plan. It really just doesn't fit in with the way we eat.

We actually eat at two table service per day. (A really late breakfast, then a late dinner.)

We have gotten the free dining plan by staying at a value for a few days, but found we were also spending money on an extra sit down meal here and there and had too many counter service left over.

We haven't done the DDP in a few years, but have used the TiW a bunch the last 2 and saved quite a bit.

I think it comes down to how you eat/drink at WDW. You might want to hop on a site like AllEars and quickly peruse the menus and map out an average day or 2 and actually crunch the numbers. If you eat more "flexibly" than the DDP, you may find TiW is the way to go.

You do have to spend so much before the TiW pays for itself (I think it's $75 now?) and starts saving you actual money, so take that into account too.

I know what the DDP plan is but am confused to what the TiW is and what it includes.

TiW - Tables in Wonderland. A discount program that Florida Residents and Annual Passholders can purchase. The cost for annual passholders is $75 for about 13 months. The card entitles you to 20% off all food and alcohol at most WDW sit down restaurants (and counter service locations at the Value Resorts and POFQ, because they don't have a sit down at those locations).

Is that just for the card holder or can cardholder pay for everyones meal and still get the discount?

One strict rule on the card is that everyone getting the discount is on the same check.

I was just looking at that at Allear it looks very interesting. I think I will try that out!
Thank You!

Just got back from the Fort on Saturday. We use TiW, that way we can pick & choose if we want to do a table service daily or not. There was a total of 10 in our group and we always got the full discount. I think they are only obligated up to 8 people, but we never had a problem. We also just did one check & figured the rest out later.

We had another surprise. I know I saw somewhere earlier that they were extending the passholder discount to stores beyond the World of Disney at DTD. We have Premium Passes and we got a 20% discount at ANY store on the property. Even the countries at the World Showcase gave us the discount. We saved a lot with it, because we buy a lot of stuff for other people while we were there.

I don't know, did not think to ask, & have not had time to check since we got back to see if the 20% was just for Premium Pass holders or not. I did notice on the sales receipts that it stated Prem pass discount
