I was skimming through the Unofficial Guide last night and *think* I saw something about AAA members getting the Dining Plan through AAA? Anyone know anything about this? I didn't book my package through AAA because there was no savings over regular booking but wondering if you can get DDP through them?
TIA

HI, we just booked thru AAA to get our room discount & be able to purchase DDP. WDW will not let you add the DDP to a AAA discounted room, but you can do the package thru AAA.:flower3:

Just curiouse - What kind of discount did you get through AAA on your package? Value/Mod/Deluxe and what month? I'm trying to actually switch my Disney booked vacation for July at POP to AAA and they're only quoting what seems to be a 5% discount on the room portion. From other sites, I was expecting 15%.

It is only the room that they discount, not the DDP, but we got 10% off our deluxe resort for Oct.

Go to AAA website and under family vacations click Disney. They will have a link to the brochure. Click it and a PDF of AAA's Disney brochure will come up and I think on page 12 you can zoom in on the savings chart and it will tell you what the discount is for your resort class during your stay dates.

I'm not seeing this. I only see Disneyland - no WDW - could it be it's not available to me in Texas??? My dates are 7/13 - 7/18.

anytime i go to the AAA site i can't get a quote for WDW , i have to fill out a form and they send me a quote, i'd like to be able to see the resorts and prices instead

I just got a quote from AAA. We are staying 9 nights at a value with the dining plan. The AAA discount would save us about 100$. We arent members, so once we would joined it was only gonna be a 45$ savings. I believe she said it was a 10% discount off just the room portion of the package.

I had to request a quote for WDW too. Guess because I live in Oregon it's assumed I'll go to DL. That said, for two adults staying at CSR 7 days, six day park hoppers and DDP I saved almost $200 going thru AAA.

I have used them 3 times now and what I do is go to the Disney site and configure my vacation, then figure out what my room only discount is for the time I am there and subtract it and it is correct to the penny.

But remember you will then be a AAA member and you get discounts throughout the year at other hotels, you get roadside assistance, and you would not believe the places you can show your card and get discounts and places you probably go every week.:thumbsup2

AAA's roadside assistance can't be beat.

Four weeks ago I was picking my husband up at the airport. I left early to pick up DD and was dismayed to find my battery was dead! Now, I hate driving to the airport so I was already nervous..this new development nearly made me ill.

I called AAA, explained I needed to leave for the airport in less than an hour..and they had someone come to jump start the battery within 15 minutes! I was soooo grateful. Next week the battery died again and they replaced it.
Well worth the membership fee IMO.

My favorite two: 10% off Joe's Crab Shack (and Fulton's which is in DTD, but we never eat at Fulton's) and Payless Shoe Source!

Yes, it's well worth having for itself alone.

You can use your AAA card at payless? OMG:scared1: I have overpaid way too much. Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

Here's a link to the discounts available through AAA

You can get a package with DDP if you book through AAA directly. You also get a few perks when you do that, including the preferred parking pass, shopping discount card for DTD, and Storytime in MK.

For our last three trips to the Polynesian, we've saved about $400 on EACH trip of 8 nights. It's certainly worth if it you're going at a time when there are no other discounts.

Plus, AAA membership gets you discounts at lots of other hotels around the country.
