Hi everyone! Just a quick question, I have booked the package staying at Saratoga Springs with free DDP for next year, just found out the great news about the deserts being reinstated! I have noticed before everyones yummy pics of all the deserts you can get that count as "snacks" but on the updated DDP description with Complete Orlando it states it as the following:

1 Snack per person per day includes a choice of ONE of the following: frozen ice cream novelty, box of popcorn, piece of fruit OR 20oz bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani Water, at snack cart or merchandise shop locations and select Quick Service.

Does this mean no cake :confused3 TIA Debs x

just an FYI...the desserts were not "reinstated" because they never were actually removed. That was a rumor, based on incorrect info in UK brochures. The official US brochure never was released with no desserts.

And the snacks listed on the brochure are the same every year...and are just examples of what you can get with a snack credit. This is not the full list by any means.:thumbsup2 Wherever you got that from is just quoting the official Disney dining brochure.

here's the link to the snack thread which lists all the things that are allowed this year...expect next year's to be similar unless there are drastic changes. You don't have to read the whole thread, just the first post:

I think the general guideline is foods under $4.00. On our first DDP trip, we didn't know that & stuck to the items listed in the brochure. :sad2: By our 2nd DDP trip, I had discovered the DIS & we loved it!! Heading into our 4th DDP trip, I'm now the old pro! My theory on it is when in doubt, ask the CM! The worst that can happen is they tell you no. Enjoy your vacation!!!

Me, too! Boy, did I feel silly when I saw the thread of items we *could* have had!

The thread jjohnson has done for the past few years has been great! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2381706

I copy it and then make it as small as possible to take along with us. I eliminate those places that I won't be visiting as well as highlighting those "New" snacks I may want to try.

Many (but not all) of the menus at CS restaurants will have the DDP symbol next to the item if it is allowed as a snack. If you don't see the symbol, just ask the CM. 2 years ago we were at Blizzard Beach and I wanted to get my DD10 a Snow Ball at Artic Expeditions. When I ordered it the CM said I couldn't use a SC for it. I (very nicely) pointed out to her that the DDP symbol was on the sign. She looked at it and said "I was off for a few days and it wasn't there the last day I worked". So, they do change this without notice. If I hadn't read jjohnson's thread I wouldn't have known about it (or many other things)

I have done my best to help the thread by reporting back when we go in Sept. (taking pictures of menus too) to keep the information as accurate as possible. ;)

I too didn't know about all the snack options my first time (Jan. 05) and we only got the items listed in the brochure. We also didn't use all of our credits. And this was the one time we paid for DDP! It was new then and many of the CMs were still learning how to use it as well.

We'll have double the snacks this time since we have QSDP. Oh the snacks I see in our future!:cloud9:

Happy Snacking!
