DDP Seasonal Upcharge?

How does the DDP seasonal upcharge work? When I paid off our dining today it was less than I had expected. It wasn't until after the phone call that I realized they didn't charge us the seasonal fee. During the call I did tell the CM a few times that the amount I had expected was higher.

Will they make us pay the upcharge when we check in now? Or is it possible that if you are staying under the DVC you don't pay the upcharge?
