DDP- receipts with cost of meals?

I am going to WDW next month with the DDP. I will need receipts from my meals with the actual cost of the meal on it (prior to the dining plan credits being applied).

Has anyone been recently who can tell me for sure that I will get a receipt with the cost of the meal on it, even though I am using the DDP?

Yes, and no.

You will get a preliminary receipt, that shows the full cost of the meal. After you hand over your card and the DDP entitlements are applied, you will get an updated receipt showing the covered items at $0.00.

I don't know if you can keep the preliminary receipt or not, but you should be able to take notes, or a picture, or something, if you really want to track.
 
Don't they also print the 18% suggested gratuity amount on your final bill?

You should be able to calculate the total back from this, if so. The tip amount would be pretax I assume.
 

unfortunately I need the actual receipts with the amount of the food for work purposes.
 
At some restaurants, they gave us a receipt with amounts with the guest copies. At others they didn't, so I jotted down the amount. If you ask, they will probably be able to print an additional receipt for you.

you should get the actual reciept from the meals. we did last year just so we can track how much each meal was and how much we saved by using the meal plan

Did you get the receipt for both TS and CS? Was it the receipt they brought to the table before they applied the DDP (so you just hung on to it) or did they bring it back to you after they applied the DDP credits?
 
At TS you could ask them to print an extra receipt, but no guarantees that they would do that at all TS locations. They do give you a printed receipt showing the total and suggested tip amounts, but it often disappears once the CM takes your card to swipe the DDP credits.

At CS the only slip you get is the "zero" one to sign, though the meal total will show on the register before the CM zeros the total out. I don't know if they can print that receipt showing the cost, and if they can I don't know how many CM's would know how to do it.
 
At Wolfgang Puck Express and Cookes of Dublin, we received receipts with the cost on it. At other CS locations at Disney I would catch the total before given the zeroed receipt. At TS locations I have prices on the receipt I was given. We returned home on 8/22.
 
Here is a sample of the receipts you will receive. As you can see, there are no prices when using the DDP. The hand written prices are mine. I compared the DDP price vs OOP to see what our actual savings were for our trip in May. The results are at the trip report link below.
