My apologies if this has been asked and answered previously. We have a question about the dining plan through DVC. Our trip will be for five nights. Do we have an option to purchase the plan for more days than this? We are staying offsite one day before checking into DVC but will be visiting a Disney park that day. Is it allowed to buy the dining plan for an extra day?

no..you buy for the number of NIGHTS you are staying at the disney property.

Thanks PEANUT1 I figured as much. I'm not too clear about this as we've never used the DDP before. If we should choose to stay the one night at a WDW resort we can't purchase the dining plan unless we book a package, right?

If you pay cash for a non-DVC resort, you'll need to follow whatever restrictions apply to the cash bookings. I've heard that AP holders can now add the DDP to their bookings, but there may be a minimum number of nights.

If you book on points, you can add it, but the exchage fee of $95 will also apply.

The simplest way would be to simply add a night to your DVC reservation, if possible.

I understand now. Thanks PEANUT1 and Chuck S. Guess we'll just have to stick with the 5-day plan and pay cash for the extra days.
