We Are Getting The Ddp For Our Stay. The Problem Is We Are Splitting Resorts. Akv For 3 Nights Then Ssr For 9 Nights. My Delima Is We Were Told We Will Have Two Seperate Ddp's, One From Each Resort. So If I Understand This Correctly We Have To Use Our Meals Before We Check Out Of Akv, And Then Start Over At Ssr? This Will Totally Mess Up My Adr's.

As far as I know, you can use you credits from AKV until midnight of your check-out night from AKV. Just be sure you hand them the room card from AKV instead of SSR on that night.

Your DDP credits from SSR begin the moment you check-in at SSR and run until midnight of your check-out night.

You will have 3 DDP credits per person from AKV and 9 credits per person from SSR, as it goes by the number of nights, not the number of days.

There's no way to switch the credits over to the second half of your stay? We were planning on a split stay as well, and were going to "save" up most of the first half's credits to use on the second part. If that's not possible, we'll have to re-think.

nope..you have to use them by midnight of checkout. Our last trip in October we stayed in 3 places over a 12 day period. It wasn't too bad with using up our credits you just have to plan your ressies around it.

Darn it! I'll have to review our plans--maybe pay OOP the first few days and have more in-room meals. I'll have to run the numbers and see what works out best. I'm kind of surprised that Disney can't manage to carry them over.

The credit are tied to a reservation for the length of stay. When you change resorts, it is a new reservation. No way to link reservations from different resort, aas you have to check-in separately at each resort.

I can't imagine that Disney would even want guests to be able to carry them over at all. It doesn't make Disney any money.

Now we check out of AKV on the 20th and into SSR the 20th. Which DDP are we on during the day of the 20th?

Both once you check into SSR. Of course you'll want to use up any credits left on the AKV reservation before using the SSR credits. As Chuck said, just be sure to use the right card.

You can technically use both. The AKV portion of your DDP expires at midnight on the 20th. You can use your AKV room key for your TS for that day so make sure you keep track of those key cards. We did the same thing for our trip in August. We switched from SSR to AKV. It was a little confusing and we also thought it would mess up our credits for our ADRs but it didn't.

I didn't read all the posts so forgive me if someone mentioned this already....When we checked out of SSR we had several Snack credits remaining. You can purchase items in the "grocery area" of the gift shops using snack credits. The only criteria is that the item's value be less than $4. So, the day we switched over to our 2nd resort, we used our remaining snack credits to buy milk, a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, etc. It was great to know the credits weren't being wasted and we stocked our kitchen for the second 1/2 of our stay. Something to remember.

I was thinking that on the snack credits--actually, I haven't been on the plan before, nor done a split stay, nor stayed in DVC before, so this is all new to me. I am, however, a Type A Disney vacation planner, so I'm currently researching our TS/CS options for the first portion of our stay. Soon to come, the spreadsheet detailing cost vs value of skipping the DDP for the first few day.

Anyway, I was thinking we could pick up nonperishable snacks at the second resort, on that first day there. I hadn't considered milk, etc--I was thinking cookies. But hey, bottled water/soda, milk, etc. would be fine, too. And I never even considered a loaf of bread or peanut butter--I'll have to see what else they sell. It may not be the absolute best use of the snack credits, but certainly better than letting them go to waste. Or swilling down 6 funnel cakes because I can! Then again...
