Has anyone here either previously tried the premium version of the DDP or possibly crunched the numbers on the new 08 premium plan? It sounds like it would be so fun to be able to eat 3 meals a day and have all the extra perks that come with it. I would love to spend a week or so eating and taking in behind the scenes tours. That's right up our ally. Although I couldn't justify the price to take our kids along for this package because our 10 yo would be at the adult rate and both are too young for most of the tours (and would be bored out of their minds!). It seems like it would be a great anniversary trip for dh and myself. Any thoughts? Thanks for your insight to the plan.

If you plan on using the extras - park tours, Cirque, recreation - then the package will work out great. We have Premium several times (trying out Platinum in Oct). Our last trip we averaged one "extra" per day which basically covered the cost of one person's package for the day ($150), the rest was made up for in food since we can easily spend $150 in 3 TS meals. Its nice to not worry about how many credits a meal costs (all meals are 1 credit) or whether we can just stay in for room service. If my DH wants to go parasailing and take out jet skis all afternoon he can. Yes, this stuff can take up some park time, but we like a more relaxed vacation but still get to ride whatever we want. We like to escape from the parks in the afternoon and come back to swim, rent boats, jet ski, etc before dinner and hitting the parks in the evening. We haven't used the plan in the winter since we would only use it for food and a tour or two - I'm just not up for watersports in Feb, even in Florida. Without the plan in the warmer months we likely wouldn't parasail more than once and only rent jet skis once or twice. I don't find the package to be a great money saver over what we would normally spend out of pocket - but its a great deal on the activities incldued (very easy to "spend" more than you paid). However when the price difference is only a couple hundred dollars (not that much in the grand scheme of our vacation) we have always opted for the plan and use the recreation to our heart's content. I know a lot of people take an "off" day to do waterparks or rest - well we take that day and spend it playing on the lake - something I think we would be less inclined to do if it wasn't paid in advance.

We are staying at the AKL on the Premium plan in September, and can't wait! This is our first trip on site, and only our second trip over all, last one in 2000. We are bringing our nieces, ages 10 and 12 for their first trip ever! :cool1: The package was a bit expensive, but when we added up all the extras, it made a difference of about $100. But, to be able to do all the character meals, the Luau, CRT, and at least 2 TS everyday, made it worthwhile over all. And the girls are going horseback riding, we are playing mini golf, renting sea-raycers, going parasailing, taking a few tours, and checking the girls into childcare one night to do Jiko. And the Cirque tickets! Worth the cost alone, as far as I'm concerned! I think that we are definitely going to enjoy our trip, no matter how much we spent. Luckily, we are in a financial position to do this blowout trip. I'll be able to tell you if it is really worth it after September 22, which is when we come back!:sad1:

I just got back and I used the premium plan and it was wonderful no worries about where you ate because everything is one credit. We had all the meals. And if we where too tired any time of the day we just got room service and it was only one credit. We also did Cirque, pairsailing and tubing all so much fun. We are going to do platium next time only because we did 2 spa days this time and we would liked to do one more.
