DDP or TIW

I will be stay at BCV for 6 nights. I was planning on using my TIW card but I am doing Fantasmic one night at the Brown Derby and Teppan Edo another night. Neither place takes TIW card. The other nights we will be at Kona, Crystal palace. Le Chef and Ohana.

With that itinerary, I am now not sure if it would be better for me to purchase the dining plan (we are DVC members and can purchase up to 48 hours prior to trip) and use TIW for the extra meal since just Brown Derby and Teppan Edo will already be atleast $200.00 OOP?? My DDP price for week would be about $550.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

:)

Are you going to use the CS and snacks?

Is the Fantasmic Package 2TS? Is it really worth that on the DDP...moneywise...I mean would you come out ahead paying out of pocket vs paying basically two days of the dining plan for it?

As DVC, can't you get the DDP for less than 6 nights...so if Fantasmic and Teppan Edo are close enough together, you could just get the DDP for 2-3 nights and use TIW the rest of the time.

At Brown Derby, yes, it is 2 TS.

If you book your reservation in segments, yes. Then you can have DDP on one segment and no DDP on another segment. To use DDP to pay for Brown Derby and Teppan Edo you would have to have DDP for at least three nights, because you would need three TS credits, or the DxDDP for one night. The credits still expire at midnight after your DDP segment ends, so you'd have to take that into consideration.

Segmenting the reservation is apparently easier to do if you segment it when you book it. If you have an already booked reservation, it may be depending on whether you can get availability now on all the segments you intend to separate it into. Check the DVC board for information on segmenting a DVC reservation for dining plan purposes.

Add up what you will be paying OOP with your TIW discount, you should have a fair idea of what you will eat and then see if it's more or less than the DDP, be sure to take into account any CS meals and snacks too!

From the rest of the statement, I assume you mean CAN not can't. But that is a good idea for OP.

I just worked the numbers and once you factor in tip with the DDP, the DDP comes out to roughly $100.00 more than the TIW card. That figure also includes money for snacks and CS.

The savings with the TIW card actually surprised me espicially since I am paying full price of Fantasmic Brown Deby and Teppan EDO.

So the TIW card will be the way to go.

Thanks for all the replies. :)
