We are contemplating getting the DDP, but I understand that you need to include it for everyday of your stay. Does the entire stay include check in and out days for DDP purposes?

Here is the problem:
We will be arriving in Orlando late on a Friday, so will not get to resort until like 1am on Saturday, but will be booking our room “for Friday night”. The following Saturday, we will need to leave Disney at like 4am for a very early flight.

Is it possible to not getting the DDP for check in day (Friday) and check out day (Saturday) since we obviously cannot use it due to our very late arrival and very early departure?

You get DDP credits for each night of your stay. You get them all at once, and may use them on the days surrounding each of those nights at any time and in any order.

DDP is for length-of-stay; if you want fewer nights you'll have to make multiple reservations.

It's not calculated by days, but by nights on your reservation. So it looks like your hotel is for 8 nights, so you'd get 8 TS, 8 CS, and 8 snacks per person to use over your stay. You could do 2 TS one day or a 2TS restaurant or show one day. If you only wanted 7 credits per person, you'd have to change your reservation to room only for your first or last night.

The DDP is for the number of nights booked. Let say you have a 7night/ 8 day package you would have 7 CS x number of people in party. Same for snack credits and TS. I hope that helped.:goodvibes

If you don't think you'll use eight TS, CS, and snack credits (remember you can use them in any order, on any day,) the PP had a great suggestion to make your first night a room-only reservation and then make a separate reservation with dining for the rest of the week. :thumbsup2

We usually arrive around 6 pm on our checkin day & leave at 4 am on checkout day. We use a CS credit for dinner on our arrival day. Then we use 2TS credits one evening for dinner (usually Hoop Dee Doo). Then we just have the extra snacks to use at some point. If all else fails, we "buy" chocolate milk &/or OJ to put in the fridge in the room for breakfasts to use up those extra credits.

Sorry, you can't get a partial dining plan. But they do take situations like yours into consideration in that the dining plan is not a per day allocation, but a per stay allocation. You'll get all your credits at once and it's up to you to decide when and how to use them. The only thing you can't do is use them for people who aren't on your room reservation.

There is a benefit to having that "extra" night, you can use the additional TS for a signature dining experience or a show like Hoo-Dee-Doo that requires 2 Table credits without interferring with your other days TS.
