Hi, we are planning a trip to WDW in late April and plan on doing the DDP. we have a 5 and 2 yr old that have different tastes (the 2yr old will still eat her veggies!) So my question is how do we pay for a side of something extra for her. i know we give our waitress/waiter our room key to pay for our meal, but how do we pay for the rest? i don't plan on putting a creditcard back up on our room key, so do they just give me a bill so i can pay with cash, or do i pay for all the extras at checkout? Thanks! jen

For a TS credit you will get your bill, then they minus your "credits" and the remainder is what you pay, whether it be by cash or charge, just like in any restaurant.

For CS it would basically be the same. Order your items at the cashier---give your room card then pay the remaining items.

DP is very simple and such a convienence IMO. Have a great time and enjoy ;0)

If you don't have any charging priviledges on your room card, you will be given a second bill with the cash amounts you need to pay at the end of your meal. Keep an eye on that bill, because sometimes it has the tip added on, while other times it does not. I guess it depends on the server. We do this often when using the DDP. But we also have the DDE card and apply that to the second bill for a discount. It's all pretty easy and your server will have no problem doing this as it is done often.

I just had that experience. When I was using the DD plan at the Coral Reef, I decided I had to "splurge" and ordered one of those special celebration drinks with the light in it. Darn, I can't remember what it is called right now, but it was GOOD! :rotfl:

Anyway, they just presented me with the bill for the drink, which of course was not included in the plan. And the tip was already included in the charge, which I didn't even realize until I had already added in an extra amount to cover the tip. Oh well, he did a good job.

so i am now wondering if i have "charging priviledges" would they still give me a bill to what is being charged? when they run the card key do they ask weather i want it charged, or use another form of paymennt? sorry for so many questions, i just want to feel like a pro when i get down there! lol thanks!

If they charge it to your room card, you still have to sign a separate bill.

The waiter asked if I wanted the drink charged to my room key or if I wanted to pay it seperately.

Don't worry, you will do fine. When in doubt, ask. Believe me, the servers have heard it all by now and would probably rather you just ask.

We did the Coral Sea drink too for my son.

The waiter politely stated that the extra drink wasn't included in the Dining Plan. And I said, that's fine, I'll pay out of pocket for it. A separate bill was issued for that, with the 18 percent gratuity already added, and I left money for that bill ( a little extra since the guy was very attentive to us).
