DDP - How many days?

First, I apologize if this is already answered somewhere on the board.

We are going to be at Disney for 7 nights/8 days and we are getting the DDP. If we start using it on the first night, will we still be able to use it on the last day? I think I understand that there will be credits based on the 7 nights, I just want to know if I can spread my credits over the 8 days.

DDP credits are given to you as a lump total of the credits for your stay and they expire at midnight on the day you check out. So, you will still have dining credits the day you check out (assuming you haven't used them all). We usually use up our snack credits at the MS Bakery for treats to take home and use a final CS meal before hitting the road (we drive) or we get up and do a TS meal in the parks for breakfast. You are correct, the credits are based on the number of nights you are at the resort.

When you check in all the credits are pooled together and you use them anytime you wish. So if you want to take a day you don't use any, that is your choice. If you wish to schedule 7 meals the first day you can use them all then.

Most people spread them over the days they are there. For example if you have 7 TS credits, you use them for 7 dinners.

But you can use them how you wish.

As the PP said, you have until midnight on the day you check out to use them up. I really didn't think we would have anything left, but we had 2 QS meals and some snacks left the last day so we grabbed sandwiches to take with us to the airport and a couple of Disney snacks to take home with us before leaving.

Thanks everyone! I thought my reasoning was good, but this is our first time with DDP (we had QSDP) last time. Why would I think it would be different?

We had several snacks left last time, as well. We loaded up in the gift shop for our drive home. This time I hope to make better use of the credits using what I learned from last time and what all the great folks on here are teaching me!
