Okay we are going to Disney week before Easter in March (I know... I know... we have the disney dining plan (the cheaper one) Do we need to make restaurant reservations??? I really hate to be tied down to being certain places at certain times. But I also worry that it will be so busy we may never get to eat without taking up a ton of our precious time waiting. etc.
I would really appreciate any advice from those of you who have done Disney or the dining plan or both. Very nervous!!!
Thanks in advance.

Few people will tell you no you don't need them. Are you all park hopping? We never park hop so I just pick a park a day and a restaurant(at that park or near by) and take in mind the major show times for then day. Also try to get and ADR for around the time my family is use to eating dinner.

Absolutely!! This is a very busy time as it is Spring Break. I am going at the same time and made my ressies about 3 weeks ago and at that time Le Cellier was already very limited seating. I made most of my ressies for outside the parks so I can go to any park that day, not getting hopping.

Yes, if you want to get decent use out of the dining plan at an extremely busy time of year with that large of a party, you need to make reservations. In fact you should have made them by now with a party of that size. If you prefer to wing it, you should nix the dining plan so you don't waste your money on something you won't really get to use.

You need to get to calling like yesterday too, we are going that week and part of th week before i wasn't able to get into a few places with a party of 5... i'd get together with the others and see what you plan to do!!! ASAP!

Okay called in last night and got us a Character Breakfast, a night at cinderellas royal table, and a meal at Hollywood and Vine with a bonus of front of the line passes to fantasmic with that reservation. So because the royal table reservation took two table service meals we now have just one table service meal each to use up during the week, may use it on pizza in room etc. Anyway, they were so helpful at the reservation desk on figuring out what parks we would be at and accomadated with restraunts in those parks, Thanks so much for the encouragement to "reserve",

Great glad you got some!!! remember pizza in the room is 2 TS credits as well.

you might want to try for coral reef (in EPCOT) to use your remaining credit. i think the kids would love it: you sit in a large, tiered dining room with a humongous :scared1: tank taking up one wall. all kinds of fish swim by (sharks, turtles, etc ~ there is a guide on the table to help identify them) as well as an occassional diver.
& don't miss the chocolate wave ~ it is without a doubt, the best dessert in all of WDW!!
