Our October stay is divided into 3 reservations because of availability when I booked. I was not planning to do DDP but thought maybe I would for the one night reservation in the middle of our stay. Anyone ever done this and know how it would work?
Thanks,
Lora

Yes you could add the DDP to any of the individual reservations as long as they are not linked. If the reservations are all for the same resort, room size, view, etc. they may already be linked together and you would need to get the DDP for all nights.

If they are not linked, you will need to check-out and then check-in between each reservation and may need to change rooms. If you get the DDP for one portion in this case, the credits would be valid from the time you check-in for that reservation and pay for the DDP until midnight of the check-out day for that one reservation.

When you call member services, you tell them what reservation you want to add the DDP to.

We have done that before...just make sure you get the total amount due when you call MS. I'm glad I listen closely once or we would have had it for the entire stay!

A split stay is a great time to do the DDP. You could have the deluxe plan for a day or the QS plan, and/or the regular plan for other days. We like to have the DDP at the beginning of our stay and use the credits for the most expensive restaurants to get the best value.

Thanks for the replies. As Michael said, since my reservations are linked I would have to get DDP for the entire stay. I just confirmed that with MS...though I call and ask again in a week or two.;)

Just call MS and tell them to unlink your reservations. On each reservation reference the others so the room assigner knows that you want to stay in the same room. We have done this a couple of times and didn't have to change rooms.

This would require you to at least check in and out for each reservation wouldn't it even if you don't have to move? I'd find that cumbersome just to have the dining plan for 1 day.

If you do decide to get the DDP just for one day, I'd consider getting the Deluxe plan, because of the following:

DDP is valid from your check-IN for that night (which would be in the AM), and remains in effect until midnight of your check-OUT day...which would be the following midnight. So you could spread your DDP credits over two full days, if you wanted.

This is exactly what I had in mind.:goodvibes

For me it's no big deal. A walk to the Front Desk and 5 minutes of my time is worth the savings. :goodvibes

This is our plan except to do the DDP during the second half because we'll be celebrating my middle DD's bday and Hanukkah for two of the nights. :thumbsup2

Makes sense. :thumbsup2

We like the DDP for the first half because we never use up the first days credits because we don't arrive until late afternoon. We use them on our first check out day and always have left over food and snacks. Using them on the day that we come home would be too much for us to deal with.
