We have the regular DDP (1 snack, 1 CS and 1 TS) for our March 2012 trip. This is our first DDP experience and I have read or understood conflicting reports about kids DDP.

At TS restaurants must kids order a kids meal to use their TS credit? Or can they order from the regular menu?

At CS restaurants same question - do they have to order from the "kids menu"

and if it is a case of some CS allowing and others not, that would be good to know too.

Thanks,

The answer to both questions is Yes. If they are a child on the dining plan, they must order from the Kids' menus where available. Note that ALL TS locations on the plan, and the majority of the CS locations do have Kids' menus. There are a few CS that do not though, but I don't know them off hand (Casey's comes to mind).

If you have the Free Dining Plan promotion, you CAN update his age to 10 to allow him to select from the adult selections. This requires paying for an adult ticket. If not on the Free DDP promotion, you still can do this, but it requires paying for the adult ticket AND dining plan, which is usually not so good an idea.

*Note: Use of "him" throughout was due to my brain being stuck on a previous post. If your child is a she, my apologies. I probably could have just edited in a him/her in there faster than typing this all out, but that wouldn't have been as fun now would it?

On the DIS it's not really a case of whether some CMs will allow and others will not - because Disney says that a child's credits are to be used for children's meals (at both TS and CS that have children's menus) that's the rule the boards stick by. Yes, according to Disney they must order from children's menus at restaurants that have children's menus.

There's a sticky at the top of the forum about Kids' CS Credits. It has a list of the CS restaurants that do NOT have kids' meals.

Thanks, i have one of each. Worried they may get bored with the kids fair I have seen on the menus and I dont feel there is enough healthy unfried variety IMO... but I understand there are options to share my food with my kids so we will make the best of it :) it's WDW after all!! :yay: thanks!
