This will be my forth trip, but I havn't been in about 5 years. It will be my Dmom, Dsis, me, and my Dbf(a first timer). We will be going Dec 15-20, and we have the dining plan which we have never done! We are staring to "semi-plan" and my mom and I are trying to figure out where to make ADRs. Now we have a few TS places in mind, like Teppanyaki(for my sister), and my mom wants to do a breakfast at CRT. Does anyone have any sugguestions, we are a group of one older adult(mom) and then the rest of us(21,21, and 19). Also I had no idea if it is needed to make ADRs for our CS. Any suggestions would help. Thanks:santa:

This is my opinion and others might disagree. But, I use the DPP as a starting point not the end-all. My DW and I decide where we want to eat TS for each day of the trip considering such things and where we will be and do we want to try a new place or must return to a favorite. We might end up with 7 TS meals on a 5 TS meal plan. Fine, I'll pay OOP for 2 or 3 if we chose a signature meal.

After that, I look at the estimated cost based on what we would probably order, that's when I decide the VALUE of the TS credits and where I will use them. This year we are going to Biergarten(lunch $50) and Coral Seas (dinner $100) on the same day so Biergarten will be OOP.

We're a little more flexible on CS credits. We have a couple of favorite spots (tangerine cafe Yum, yum, get the platters). If we don't use them up (neither of us is a big breakfast fan), we run over to DTD and get take out from Earls for the trip home.

Also, you do NOT have to eat together each meal. If two of you hate Chinese and the rest love it, make two ADRs and ENJOY.

is to figure out which park we will be in each day. I do this by checking park hrs, nighttime shows, EMHs, etc. When I've decided which days to do what, I choose restaurants in those areas, not necessarily in that park. For example, we'll be at MK on Sunday of our trip and will have dinner at Kona's at the Poly, a short monorail ride away. AK closes fairly early so we're going to DTD that evening and eating at Wolfgang Puck Cafe. I try not to have to do too much traveling, wastes time. It takes some thought and trial and error. Don't stress, it's vacation!!

OK, here are our favorites:

Le Cellier - Canada
O'Hana's - Poly
Liberty Tree Tavern - MK
Sci-Fi Dine In - MGM

Our trip in Sept will be a Mother/Daughter trip too! princess: princess:

You do not need (and cannot make) ADRs for CS. As to other ideas....remember that CRT counts as a signature restaurant and requires 2 TS credits per person. In my opinion, it isn't worth it.

My top favorites are Le Cellier, Les Chefs de France, and Coral Reef. All have excellent steaks and the latter two have excellent sea food (sorry, didn't eat sea food at Le Cellier, so can't comment.)

For fun atmosphere, try 50s Prime Time Cafe in MGM. You might consider paying OOP for your CRT breakfast if Mom has her heart set on that.......Also, make ADRs as soon as you can. You're not quite into the Christmas busy season till the end of your stay, but the good places fill up fast. You can make ADRs 180 days before your trip.

Try Ohana and Boma, they are 2 of our favorites. We liked Ohana better than any of the other TS.

Also consider Concourse Steakhouse (we've always enjoyed it) especially when the monorail comes though the hotel. Kona at Poly is good too. If your mom wants a character breakfast (like the other poster stated I don't think CRT is worth 2 credits either) the breakfast at GF (1900 park fare) is wonderful and less crowded than Chef Mickeys. Also we love ESPN Club at Boardwalk. Check out allearsnet website for all the menus. Thats a great way to plan too.

Another little trick for the use of your credits, if you'd like to stretch their use and use them at a signature (2 credit) spot, is for two of your party to use their credits and the other two pay out of pocket. You'll use 4 credits and still have another 4 credits for a TS meal.

Folks have offered some great suggestions. Ohana, Chefs, Le Cellier, 50s Prime Time are all good options, and 50sPT especially is a uniquely Disney experience ... just make sure the rest of your party likes hijinks and has a sense of humor. We like Spoodles - it's a great bang for your TS buck.

Have fun planning! Find out which parks have the lowest attendance each day (lots of sources for that ... the Unofficial Guide, Passporter, and Tour Guide Mike can give you direction), and make your ADRs for those parks. Submit yourself to the hassle of planning now and save a ton of hassles once you get there!

Oh, yeah ... when we take folks who have never been, or haven't been in a while, we have a "blue sky session". I print out the menus of several restaurants and we get together as a group (with refreshments, of course), and pass them around. And we choose by consensus. You're going at a great time of year, too - before the Christmas crowds get their worse but while the parks and resorts are decorated in all their splendor.

thank you all, I will be talking with my mom about the breakfast and see what she thinks!
