First year trying this & to be honest a bit overwhelmed by all options - combined with realisation left it way too late to book the most popular venues! so can anyone recommend their absolute favourite choice for the last night of Hols? Happy to use up 2 credits if necessary. Missed all vacancies for dinner at ohana and le cellier AND fantastic dinner package but hey ho - that's how it goes when less organised than most. Have managed to get a dinner dine res at nine dragons - epcot, mamma rosa HS and park 1900 fair breakfast for our last morning on 2nd June 

Some of my favs are
1. Boma
2. Biergarten
3. Crystal Palace
Hope that helps and hope ur vacation is awsome!

Kaz, what kind of food do you like/don't you like? How many TS credits do you still need to use?

While you think about it, I would recommend that you don't stop trying and checking. People DO cancel. Also, even when you get there, if you stop by Guest Services or even walk past a restaurant you want to try, check and see if they have anything available. Being flexible on time helps too. We have managed to secure last minute reservations for Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace in the middle of Easter week. There was nothing available when I tried to book but we stopped by our resort front desk on our way out to the parks and just asked them to check for us and on the second day of trying we got both.

Also, keep an eye on here

Thanks for the info - will definitely take advice. We DH & DS (age 10) and all meat lovers & not very fussy about style of cuisine. That said DS now feels a bit old for character dining so more important to choose nice and unusual theme instead. Thinking about AK lodge or Wilderness Cafe? Staying at OKW but do have car too. Having read more reviews about 1900 fair seems food not so good but character dining great so may cancel that (as DS nOt bothered now) and try for boma instead 

Whispering Canyon Cafe would probably suit you perfectly if you can get in. Even a lunch, which is easier to get than dinner if it comes to that. Plenty meat there!

We have 1900 Park Fare booked but I am keeping it. You are always going to get reviews that vary to the extreme and while some are more consistent it always boils down to personal perference and sometimes something as simple as having the wrong server or having had to wait really long to be seated. Same goes for good reviews and although I will give a good review and openly report how much I enjoy a place, I am a little more hesitant to recommend based on the foregoing. But the characters there may not be what your son is after.

There is also Donalds' Safari Breakfast at Tusker House if you want another character meal to replace the 1900 PF.

Epcot is great for restaurants. Have you looked to see what is available in the World Showcase? Or even Coral Reef for something different (not sure you will get in easily but always worth a try).

How many ADRs do you need?

so can anyone recommend their absolute favourite choice for the last night of Hols?

We finished our trip last year with a last night meal at Hoop De Doo Review, it was a brilliant end to our holidays, lively, entertaining and good fun - it summed up our two weeks perfectly. It also meant that we were able to get the boat back to MK for one final visit before we left, prior to getting our bus back to OKW. :thumbsup2

It is very difficult to advise on meals, you can get 2 familes sat right next to each other 1 will enjoy the other won't.
We have had great meals at places like Boma, Le Cellier & Tutto Italia, Ohana but then gone back for a 2nd time and not enjoyed half as much.

Places I am not bothered about rushing back to, Cali Grill, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Biergarten, Cape May & Coral Reef.

Places we really like, Captains Grille, Grand Floridian Cafe, Whispering Canyon Cafe(but not in the main room) '50s Prime Time Cafe, San Angel Inn.

Fave's Garden Grill, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Liberty Tree Tavern & Hoop Dee Doo (going for 4th time in August)

You really need to read thru the menus and find meals you might like and try for yourself, I don't think there is a really bad place in Disney, just the odd bad experience

Like wayneg said it really is down to personal taste and experiences.

I loved California Grill, Boatwrights (or is it Shipwrights) dining hall, tokyo dining and Teppan Edo

I'd go for Whispering Canyon. Its one of our must do's(and a topic of converation everytime the ketchup is on the table;)). Never been, but like the idea of the Hoop de Doo for a last night meal too, especially getting back to MK to watch Wishes for one last time:cloud9:

I tend to look at menus and see what appeals and also have a mix of different types of cuisine so steak, italian, japenese etc.

I also tend to pick meals I wouldn't pay for oop

We really like raglan rd at DTD - eaten there twice and teppan edo at Epcot. For 2 TS credits we liked yachtsman steakhouse.

like wayne said alot of families differ as we love crystal palace

a must for us are

kona cafe
grand floridian cafe
crystal palace
plaza restaurant
donalds breakfast in animal kingdom

we alos like

sci fi diner
le cellier
chefs de france

we wanna try this year

yek and yeti
garden grill

would steer clear of chef mickeys as we feel its gone down hil the last few rimes we have been

a must for counter service is wolfgang puck express and earl or sandwich

Out of all of them one of my favourites we tried was Teppan Edo, love it, the food was great, the chef entertaining and the atmosphere was nice.

I think you'll just need to pick some and be prepared that you won't like them all.

We love:
1900PF for Dinner
Chrystal Palace for Breakfast....this also allowes yo to get a photo in front of the castly with nobody else in it
Raglan Road
50's Prime Time

we also like the Plaza in MK, you can normaly get a walk up as it's not very popular

My DS was 10 on our last trip and although he said he wasn't keen on the characters, it soon changed once we were there. We did Garden Grill with Chip and Dale....he absolutly loved it and was one of the best character interactions we had, but we weren't too keen on the food ( but others realy like it)

This time we will be trying:

Chef de France
Hoop de doo review ( 2 TS credits)
Whispering Canyon
Ohanah
Tuscar House
Boma

You could always try the rainforest cafe at AK, this used to take the DDP....I'm sure someone will correct me if they no longer accept it.

good luck

we also like the Plaza in MK, you can normaly get a walk up as it's not very popular

When we were there in November they were turning people away every time we walked past.

We love Teppan Edo probably my current favourite.

On our return to list are:
Kona Cafe
Mama Melrose
Le Cellier
Tusker House (breakfast)
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Coral Reef
The Plaza (last day lunch before heading to the airport)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Captains Grille

Trying for the first time this year:
Chefs De France
Cape May Cafe (breakfast)

We are going back to chef Mickey's but only for the characters food is ok but prefer Tusker House.

The characters are great at 1900 Park Fare - lots of banter with th Ugly Sisters etc. and we also liked the food there.
We had a fantastic last night meal at California Grill last year - a window table so we could watch the fireworks.
Sci Fi at HS was good and we also enjoyed Raglan Road.

Another vote for Whispering Canyon( the skillet is really good) and the Hoop Dee Doo- i got picked to go on stage(mortifying for me but my husband thought it was very funny) and had to wear a costume and dance. It was good fun and worth two credits.(includes alcohol too!!)

Thanks so much for all the tips. I agree totally about everyones opinion being subjective and also tend also just to post positive experiences. Its always great to hear fab reviews and similar recommendations appearing. Teh Hoop dee hoo looks different to anything we have tried before. What show do you recommend 5pm, 730 or 930? Also we hoped to use DDP but looks like you need to make a deposit - can anyone advise? Thansk again in anticipation :hippie:

We go for the 7:30pm show. If you go for the later show I believe you can get Cat 1 instead of cat 2 seats on the DDP.
You have to give your credit card if on DDP but no deposit is taken, its just there if you don't show up.
