We always have used the DDE card and have never used the DDP. We are considering trying something different for part of our next trip.

Our trip begins on Sat 12/27 and is configured as:

1 nights - SSR Studio using DVC points
6 nights - SSR 2BR dedicated using DVC points
7 nights - SSR 2BR dedicated using an inbound II exchange

Since the middle 6 night stay is during a period when there are some DDE blackouts... and also since we want to do the Epcot CPDP which is not included in DDE discounts... we are thinking of going hog wild and do a DDDP for 6 nights. I suspect that we would generally eat breakfast in the condo... eat a TS lunch, and signature for dinner. The signatures is our prime motivation... make it something special for the girls on those few nights! :)

My question is as follows: We do NOT know for sure how many people will be going. We know that besides myself... there will be DW, DD1 and DD2. What we do not know is if either DD will invite their boyfriends along. If either... it is 1000X more likely that DD2 will bring her BF along (provided he doesn't have a peace corp assignment by then).

I have put DD2's BF on the 2BR reservations just in case he comes. I can also make the ADRs for 5... and then drop a name at the podium if necessary. However... I do not want to pay for a DDDP for someone who is not going to be there. Can I drop a person from the room reservation at time of check-in and not pay for the extra DDDP? Likewise... can I add a person at time of check-in and pay for an extra DDDP?

You would need to make your changes at least 48 hours in advance is what I have been told with regard to DDP. This is whether you are adding or subtracting people. I would think you would know by then or earlier if the DBF will be along so could just call MS ahead of time.

Remember that your credits are good until midnight of your check out day. That means that you could still use the DDDP on day 8.

You can add the Dining Plans to your reservation up to 48 hours before you arrive. Because my family is a PITA and change their minds every 2 weeks, I always just wait until 4 days before we leave and then call MS, finalize the names on the reservation and then add Dining if we want it. Makes life far less stressful for me AND for the MS reps. :)

For the current trip (leaving tomorrow), I told everyone: You have until April 30th to say yes or no. If I don't hear from you by then, its a no.

I would tell the kids they have until 12/22 to make a final decision if they are going. Unless they can give you a solid YES on that day, then they will not be going. Then call MS on 12/23, make sure they have all the names on there right and add the DDP. :)

I would think you would know by then or earlier if the DBF will be along so could just call MS ahead of time.
Thanks to everyone :)

Yes I will know in advance if DBF2 (I hadn't heard that one before). will be going or not. He and DD2 have graduated from college and he does not know the next step in his career is yet... including the possibility of a Peace Corp assignment.

The others are pretty well set now. We picked these dates to match their schedule. DD1 is back in school, and this is over her Christmas holiday. DD2 is working on the US election... and I am fairly certain that by 12/27, it will be over... unless more states follow Florida's lead in learning how to count. ;)

Thanks again.

I was going to offer some suggestions until you insulted my home. Have a nice trip.

Sorry Jim,

I thought that Floridians poked fun at their own election... much the same way that Oregonians (my home state) poke fun at the fact the we keep voting down the ability to pump our own gas... which of course results in higher prices.

In any case... no insult was intendend. Sorry that you took it that way.
