I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times but I dont feel like going thru every post to find an answer.

We have 3 adults and 1 child on the DDP, going to WDW in Feb 07. My youngest son is 9 and is very picky about food and I am not sure what he will eat on the "new" kids menu selections.

Are the credits on the key to the world for the DDP divided up for adults & children??? He may want to order something off the adult menu. He looks like he could be 10 or 11 and pass for the "adult" price since my 12 year old is an "adult"

let me know what you think.

Thank you

please give me your input.

There's no distinction on the credits themselves in the account, however, your Keys to the Kingdom will have "Disney Dining A03 C01" printed on the front. Even if your son looks older, if the four of you are dining together the server will know one of you needs to order off the kid's menu.

Furthermore, the Dining Plan rules do prohibit use of child meal entitlements for adult meals.

Some guests have managed to get Disney to let them pay for an adult Dining Plan for their underaged child. You might want to consider that.

Although then wouldn't you need to also pay for an adult park pass?
The price of the kids DDP is so low that you might as well get it and then just order any adult meals and pay out of pocket for what he might want. You'll get the $10 back in snacks and counter service easily - that and a buffet or two.

I've read it both ways: Some people were offered the ability to just "up-age" the Dining Plan without "up-aging" the admission. I wouldn't rely on it, but it cannot hurt to ask.

I do agree that the Dining Plan for young children is so inexpensive that you could just the order extra food for the boy to be paid for in cash OOP, if he doesn't like the child meal options available, and still might do just as well or better.
