Hello All

Well I a getting close to booking our disney holiday now :goodvibes (roll of the 1st feb) well i was looking at booking into POP for our 2 week holiday but after looking I can see that there isn't that much difference between POP & the cheapest moderate resort at the moment with all the deals that are on & I know that if you book a moderate resort you get the DDP for counter service but before I make up my mind to book that & pay out the bit extra I was wondering has anyone ever done the DDP counter service & if so what is it like or if not could someone point me in the right direction to look into it a bit more.

Any help would be great, thanks guys x

i havent done the QS plan, but there is alot of chat about it on the restaurant boards. depending on how long you are going for, i would consider upgrading, the snacks alone quickly add up, if you ll be eating off site alot may also figure into your calculations...
there are a lot of excellent CS places, sunshine seasons tangerine cafe, patisserie, MS bakery, starring rolls etc. in MK you can get ribs and chicken at the place in tomorrow land, which is an excellent use of 1 cs credit.
there is no need to eat burger/chips/pizza every meal (unless you want to!) with a little research then there are alot of choices out there.
we stayed at PORS and were v impressed by the CS choices available (the only problem was finding seating at peak times...
i would consider it, everything being paid for in advance is great, you can have what you wnat when you want!!

Thanks very much for the reply, I will have a look over the restaurant boards we will only be spending about 4 days out of disney one day at US/IOA (we already done that on last trip only really going back for Harry Potter Land), a trip to Sea World, a trip to Kennedy Space Centre & a trip down to Miami for the day.

There is also CS meals at the hotels which are good too. You can get flatbreads at some and sandwiches and burgers. Also Cosmic Rays in Magic Kingdom you can get a rib and chicken dinner or a chicken dinner or a rib dinner which is really good value. There are some good options for counter service.

One of my favourite CS is Earl of Sandwich in Downtown as well as Cosmic Rays:thumbsup2

We did the cs dining plan for the first time last year and its definately worth it, loads of choice and includes some great places like wolfgang puck and earl of sandwich - we are doing it again this year.

QSDP is great. Previous posts cover my positive views on it. If you get free dining for moderate, you can pay the difference to upgrade to the regular plan if this suits your eating habits better.

It may also be worth checking the price for Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, both of which have been (and should still be) on a further special offer rate at the same price as a moderate hotel if you take the Studio (£100 per night).

With this, you also get the DDP free rather than QSDP, so you would avoid paying the dining plan upgrade of £7(?) pppn.

All the above assuming you are arriving at Disney between August and early November!!
