Has anyone used a DDP but still ordered from the Garden Grocer(or any delivery store)?

I am tinkering :tinker: with the idea of putting in and order for breakfast foods mostly, and using the DDP for lunches/dinners only. We plan on using x2 credits for a couple of the nicer restaurants and or dinner shows too.

I am not going to get too bent out of shape about if it saves or costs more than 50 or even 100 dollars, but I do think this will be more convenient for our purpose. Any thoughts or comments are welcome. Thanks!

8 day trip with DW, DD'S 16,14 and DS 13. Nov 19th-26th.

This sounds just like my MO. I'm holding out for a free dining plan pin code before I decide, but we're definitely ordering from Garden Grocer. Whether our meals out will end up as part of the DP or cash as we go remains to be seen.

We plan on doing exactly this. We're on the regular DDP too, and our kids are HUGE snackers, so I figured I'd get some groceries for breakfast (since we're in a 2 bdr villa with full kitchen), as well as order some snacks to take with us in the park like animal crackers/granola bars as well as a couple cases of water. Plus diapers for kids since we're coming from Canada and have to pay $25/bag that we check!

sahmoffour....That is exactly what I plan on doing also. We are in the BCV's 2bedroom also.

I thought it was a sound idea, I am glad to hear that I am not alone in doing this.

Minus the diapers.

We do this also for snacks, milk, yogurt, etc. and my Diet Pepsi that I can't go without!

We also order a case of water to use at the parks because I can't stand to use a snack credit or pay 2.50 for a bottle of water.

We did exactly this on our last trip. For us..it worked out excellent.. We placed order early, message was sent that it was delievered and waiting at POR as we were boarding our plane in Philly.. Once we arrived ..we called down and had it delivered to our room. Recommend it! :thumbsup2

we always add Garden grocer to the ddp, we like a big breakfast and dinner then order snacks and fruit - the kids fill their fanny packs in a morning (rule is two healthy snacks to every one rubbish :) ) then we don't have to stop for lunch.

We love Gardengrocer and always order our USA favourite products to bring back with us too.

I was on the DDP and used Garden Grocer, just like others. Case(s) of water, snacks and breakfast items. I used DDP for lunch and dinner. I couldn't use the snack credit to cover breakfast. Just didn't work for us.

This is exactly our plan as well. In the past (before luggage fees!) we packed shelf stable snacks in our luggage---the space it emptied was then filled with souvenirs!

I plan on ordering water, yogurt (one a day does wonders for digestion!), fruits & veggies snack bars, and bagel flats...in the past the CS location at WL offered complementary pb & J packets in the seating area, and last time we purchased a loaf of bread & took PB&J with us to the parks for snacking. I am hoping this has not changed.

We rent a car for a day or 2 and go to the grocery store. It is very convienent and then I can pick up exactly what I want... and get alcohol! I don't think that garden grocer delivers that. We also then go to the disney outlet store. We also can pick up all our liquids etc because we travel with just hand luggage to avoid extra fees.

In fact, coming from canada I used airmiles this time for the car...it was 200 miles per day.

The car care center will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel at no charge. Just set it up at your hotels concierge.

We are planning on doing this as well. Mostly for breakfast items and maybe a few extra snacks--in addition to those we will get in the parks using our snack credits. Lunch will be in the parks using our CS credits and all of our dinners are booked and will use or TS credits.

We will be ordering from Garden Grocer. I need to stock up on my diet coke and some sudries I don't want to pack.

We have used gardengrocer everytime we had DDP. We get juice for the kids, diet coke for me because I am an addict, fruit (bananas, apples). But the main reason I order is to have beer delivered for my DH. He enjoys his adult beverages and at Disney that adds up, so it's cheaper to have GG deliver it.

They don't promote alcohol on the website, but if you put in the comments section what you want they will deliver it to you. I had to fax a copy of my DL the first order but after that I was onfile and didn't need to fax it anymore.
